STHLM DANS
STHLM DANS is an international contemporary dance festival whose pilot edition, Beginnings, took place in Stockholm in 2022. It features performances for all ages – talks, workshops and an opening party. All of this on stage, outdoors, in libraries, museums and art venues, with a majority of free events. Contemporary dance is for everyone!

Stockholm Book Weekend
More than 100 publishers, booksellers, museums and institutions will fill Stockholm's streets and squares to celebrate the spirit of literature. The festival is free and through a city map, visitors navigate between literary conversations, signings, book purchases and releases. The participants arrange their own programs and open the doors to their own or borrowed premises.

'Garden Days' at Skansen
Welcome to 'Skansen in Bloom' for two weekends in May! Here there are activities for all ages – from the hobby grower to the garden enthusiast. Shop at the garden market, take part in cutting cuttings, nature crafts and deepen your knowledge during our tours and courses. You can even take a workshop in making salve and witch brew; or a scything course!
In several gardens, in addition to activities, Skansen's knowledgeable gardeners are also on site. Take the opportunity to ask your questions about gardening, cultivation, trees and plants!

Afro Dance Films - The Past, Present & Future (in English)
A film dance journey looking at afro-descendance, weaving connections between the past, the present and the future. This international programme of dance films casts a light on the moving, dancing body in relation to imaginary and African landscapes. The event will start with a pre-mingle in the museum garden. The screening will start at 2pm in the museum auditorium and will be followed by a talk, moderated by Michael Barrett (curator, Africa, Etnografiska museet). Entrance is included in the museum’s daily entrance ticket.

Outdoor Festival
On May 27-28, the Outdoor Festival STHLM returns to Djurgårdsbrunn to offer outdoor enthusiasts of all ages a smorgasbord of try-on activities in hiking, paddling, cycling, fishing, outdoor cooking, camping and much more for two beautiful days.
Renata Chlumska is back as program host and will, in collaboration with, among others, Fjällräven, Naturkompaniet, and Storytel take the festival to completely new levels. This year too, the festival is completely free of charge and visitors are welcome to move freely in the area and try out all the exciting activities.

The Royal Opera's Big Costume Sale
Now it's time for one last costume sale before we move our stores from Gäddviken. The selection is not as large as last year, but you still have the chance to find bargains from our opera and ballet performances. Find garments from sets such as Don Giovanni, Madama Butterfly, Fly where you want, Where is the sandwich, Stranded and Raymonda; everything from hats, shirts and shoes to large dresses, suits and overcoats. There will also be some textiles from our upholstery workshop and furniture from the premises in Gäddviken.
