Games, Manga & Samurai at the East Asian Museum
Do you think samurai are exciting? At the museum, you can join daily samurai-themed family tours, and in our creative studio Draken, you can paint your own samurai mask. In the museum's café, you can also taste Japanese pastries, or sit down and read manga in our new manga library. Pick and choose from titles like Dragon ball, Demon Slayer, Naruto and much more! You can also try one of our many board games, such as Tsuro, Sushi Go or Tokaido.

Sportlov at the Royal Opera House
Try baroque dancing, take the chance to sing opera, get a guided tour or follow the rehearsals on the main stage! During the 2024 sports holiday, a lot of fun happens in the beautiful and mythical Opera House.

Medieval Games at The Royal Palace
In the medieval vaults, at the bottom of the basement of the Royal Palace, for five days you can take part in games and sports that were popular in the Middle Ages. Come and challenge each other with "pulling a rolling pin", play skittles, long jump and try a variant of "parrot shooting" (without a crossbow).
Our guides in historical costumes talk in a light-hearted way about how balance, strength and speed were trained in the Middle Ages and show how the various games are played.

Mosaics at Stadshuset
Surrounded by the Golden Hall's 18 million mosaic pieces in glittering gold, all children get to create their own mosaics. We let ourselves be inspired by the room's colors and images, and create works of art from metallic paper, tiles and glue. During the sports holiday, you can also go to a family screening in two of Stockholm's finest halls, the Blue Hall and the Golden Hall.

'The Time Vault' at the Nordic Museum
Get ready for a trip back in time! At the bottom of the museum's basement vaults there is a magical place - the Vault of Time. Through a magical portal you step straight into the children's history. There's also the chance to solve the mystery of the missing marzipan, take an audi guide tour with Gustav Vasa and experience being a child in the 1890s in the Lekstugan.

The Sports break is transformed into a gaming break with us at Tekniska Museet, and we have a fantastic mix of Nintendo and Xbox games for the whole family. As if that weren't maxed out enough, there is a 1,000 square meter floor dedicated to every type of gaming experience you can imagine in Play Beyond Play.

Pirates at the Maritime Museum
Blackbeard terrorized the Caribbean, Ching Shih challenged the greatest empires of his time with his 80,000 pirates and Grace O'Malley was called Ireland's pirate queen for a reason. During the sports holiday, we visit the world of pirates, and get to know the world's most astonishing pirates. Join the dramatized family screening, listen to pirate story-telling tales and look for treasure chests. In our 'Creator's Workshop', you can build your own pirate ship.

Become a Gadget Detective
In this workshop, one of our educators will show the same kind of gadgets that can be seen in our new family exhibition Together Through Time, and other old stuff from the past. You then get to become gadget detectives! By looking carefully with a magnifying glass, you as a participant get to investigate and fantasize. The workshop ends with you being able to present your own thoughts and place the objects on a large timeline.
You can also step into a playful experience and explore what unites us humans across time and space – to create, travel and meet. Play in a bustling trading post, surrounded by film sequences from the SVT series Historien om Sverige.

Build Your Own Museum at Artipelag
We start with a children's show about Artipelag of approx. 15 minutes, gathering in the foyer. Then we spend an hour creating in Artipelag's sports leave workshop in the Artist room. What if you were to build your own museum? What would it look like? Would it have secret rooms and maybe multiple towers? Where would it be located, in the city, out in the forest or maybe up on a mountain?
A warm welcome to Artipelag's sports holiday workshop, where we build our own museum with simple materials. We use residual materials such as cardboard and paper in different thicknesses, sizes and colours.

Disco at Yoump

'The Third Hand' Workshop with Moderna Museet
During the sports holiday, all children on school leave are welcome to the museum. Explore art, body language and power in the exhibition The Third Hand and experiment with liquid plaster in Zon. Listen to jazz music and see how the music feels in the body and inspires painting. Join us for a holiday full of creativity!

Viking Games
During the sports holiday, we have a lot of fun activities at the museum! Between 14:00 and 17:00 every day you will be able to try out Viking Age board games and explore objects connected to Viking Age games. In addition, there will always be Vikings to ask questions to in the exhibition. On March 2 between 11:00 and 13:00, the illustrator of the book series Siri Viking, Per Demervall, will sign his books and show how to draw Vikings.
In addition to this, we have family screenings in Swedish at 11.30, 13.30 and 15.30, as well as screenings for adults in English at 10.30, 12.30, 14.30 and 16.30 every holiday.
