Free Tap Dancing Classes - In English
We are again excited to offer classes for kids and teenagers during the festival, and the classes will be free of charge this year through support from STF. This program presented is in collaboration with Svenska Rytmsektionen, a non-profit association for the advancement of tap in Sweden, especially for kids/youth. All classes are taught by international festival participants and held in English. Classes are separate so you can choose from just one day to all 4 days.
Please email Andrew to register for the kids or youth classes and include the student's name, age, and which days you would like to attend. We have some tap shoes that can be borrowed, but mostly adult sizes. If you have, bring shoes with a leather or plastic sole, but if not, any clean indoor shoe will be fine.

Easter Holidays & Spring Parade at The Viking Museum
In the spring, a lot happens in the world of the Vikings! It is getting to be high time to think about this year's harvest and plan for the summer's trade trips. During the Easter break, you can visit The Viking Museum and try our new activity "Shopping trip". Ask for documentation at the ticket office and then follow the instructions in our exhibition. If you are successful and return with a lot of silver, you have a chance to end up on the museum's high score stone! Between 14.00 and 17.00 each day there will be a Viking Age trader on site to discuss trade with, as well as trade goods to take a closer look at.
On 7/4 at 3:30 p.m., a spring festival is organized at the museum, to ask the gods for help with crops and future harvests. This begins with a thematic display in the exhibition and ends with a Viking era blot ceremony outside the museum. The blanket is included in the entrance ticket and everyone is welcome to participate. We also hold family screenings in Swedish at 11.30, 13.30 and 15.30, as well as shows for adults in English at 10.30, 12.30, 14.30 and 16.30 every bank holiday. Flower Workshops at Carl Eldh's Studio Museum
Inspired by Carl Eldh's plaster sculptures and Melanie Kitti's fresco paintings, you can create in the museum's workshop. Choose to paint a fresco-style motif or paint a plaster cast.
Melanie Kitti (b. 1986) exhibits her art in the studio where Carl Eldh (1873-1954) once worked. She works in a technique called "Al fresco", which means painting on moist lime plaster. The technique has been used by artists far back in time and can be seen, among other things, in church rooms. In the workshop we work with plaster and water colors to somewhat imitate fresco painting. Carl Eldh worked in plaster for both large and small works, of which you can see many examples in the museum.
Dates: 6-7 April
