- Produce art inspired by themes/ideas of art from the past; current life and world, research of regional history
- Drawing from observation: Use contour line, value to model form, abstraction based on observation; movement/gesture; usage of sketches to document thinking and planning work
- Develop knowledge of structures and processes in art production
- Produce artwork that imitates nature (realism), become aware of design and composition (formalism), express feeling or emotion (expressionism)
- Develop awareness to improve interpretation; distinguish fact from opinion; make inferences about setting, characters, events that support artwork.
- Make connections between art and personal experiences developing awareness of artist’s purpose.
- Point of view (close-up, far away, below, above, foreground, background) in own artwork
- Conscious use of elements and principles to create artwork that expresses ideas and emotions
