PTB has more than 25 years of experience in theory, development and fabrication of superconducting quantum circuits with Josephson junctions and single charge devices. In addition to this expertise, PTB will bring to this project it’s up to date clean room fabrication facilities for advanced nano- and microfabrication including electron-beam and optical lithography, various deposition and dry etching techniques and chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) of dielectric layers. A set-up for preliminary characterisation of JTWPA circuits at 4.2 K and a cryogen-free dilution refrigerator will be available throughout the project.

In this JRP, the main technical tasks of PTB are related to the development, fabrication and optimisation of JTWPA circuits in niobium-technology and their integration with quantum sensors.
