Lancaster University (LanU)

LanU was named the University of the Year on September 22, 2017 by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018, in recognition for its excellence in teaching and research. Lancaster has been the top university in the northwest of England for over a decade and this year is ranked sixth in the national league table. It is committed to doing research on quantum technologies by investing heavily in the state-of-the-art nanofabrication, cryogenic and measurement infrastructure. LanU team has complementing expertise in the fundamental physics of superconducting quantum devices, ultra-low-noise measurement techniques and advanced cooling methods, which will be essential to the proposed project. It will be led by PI Y Pashkin who is a pioneer in research on superconducting qubits.

In this JRP, the main technical tasks of LanU are related to the design, fabrication and optimisation of JTWPA circuits using all-aluminium technology, and their integration with quantum sensors. LanU will lead WP4 and contribute to WP1, WP5, and WP6.
