School
In Perú, the school week lasts from Monday to Friday. The school day starts at 8am and ends at 2pm. The school year in Perú is split into two semesters, and lasts from March to December. Perú starts school in March because Perú is in the southern hemisphere, which causes March to be the start of their fall season and December is the start of the summer season.
Perúvian education goes through primary to secondary school.
The classes that are offered in Perú are Perúvian history, physics, world history, chemistry, biology, mathematics, foreign language, and mathematics.
Markham College
Markham College is a bilingual international school in Perú. Markham College offers early, primary, and secondary schooling. Students are required to wear uniforms and use school-provided devices. Lunch and bussing are both offered, but they come with a cost. The mandatory courses are English, Spanish, mathematics, humanities, physical education, tutor periods, and an essay-writing class in Spanish. Electives include different types of sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.), history, economics, geography, critical thinking, art, drama, and music.
Compare & Contrast
The American and Perúvian education system are very similar. For one, both countries´ school week go from Monday to Friday, and both start at 8am. However, schools in Perú get out a little earlier. Perú schools end at 2pm while American schools end at 3pm. Perúvian schools also start and end at differing months from American schools. Both countries have similar schools, but there are differences.
Statistics
100% of children in Perú enroll in primary education. Sadly, the number of students who continue their education into their secondary year drops vastly; with only 33.9% of kids enrolling in secondary programming. 30% of Perúvian adults were enrolled in higher education.
My hypothesis for why the schooling rate in Perú is so low is that maybe Perúvians don´t push as much importance on higher education than other countries. Their education system may not be great.
