Vals Criollo
The vals criolla, also known as the Perúvian waltz, is a Perúvian version of the European waltz. The original waltz was brought to Perú during the colonial times from Spain.
Compare & Contrast
I like to listen to a lot of genres of music. I find Perúvian waltz music somewhat similar to R&B music in terms of the tempo. The kinds of instruments used are very different from what I´m used to hearing. Andean music is unlike anything I´ve heard, with the instruments used and its general style. Overall, traditional Perúvian music is very different from what I usually listen to.
