SPaG Punctuation Worksheets - KS2 Grammar
Punctuation is a fundamental part of our language, and here are some tips to help you teach it to your students:Keep it in context - sometimes punctuation can be used in complex ways for deliberate effect. Always remind them that using punctuation is only part of the process and grammatically correct sentences can sometimes be misleading.Self-reflection and peer-marking - sometimes the best way for students to understand punctuation is to let them reflect on their own usage, and more importantly, their mistakes. This is equally true when marking other student's work.Use visuals - flashcards, strategy cards and other visual aids can help learners see practical examples of correct punctuation and reinforce the ideas in their heads.Learning games - games like Top Trumps, Punctuation Bingo or Punctuation Dominoes can engage students in ways that more traditional forms of learning can't!
