The Bonfire

Each class would collect wood for the bon-fire and the class with the most wood in their pile would be declared the winner.  The freshmen were in charge of building the bon-fire.  On several occations, our bon-fire would be burned by another school (Edna or Ganado) and we would have to start all over.  One year, June Stone brought her whole crew of workers out and re-built the bon-fire after it was burnt down.  The last year for the bon-fire was 1989.
