Who we are looking for:
Individual “Innovation Champions” who may not have an A-Team (yet) but want to catalyse a culture of innovation in their local office. Champions will be onboarded into our A-Team Community to learn, get inspired and initiate small local actions with our support.
Offices that are ready to take their innovation culture to the next level and start a local A-Team with 4-10 people and can find the support, inspiration and training through this community!
Pandas that have innovation as part of their role and are eager to connect with others to advance the topic of innovation within their office and for the network.
What does it mean in practice?
The community already exists for a few years and will welcome you with open arms. Join an “A-Team Community Connection Call” every 6 weeks in your region to share updates, resources and get inspired by innovation across our network (calls held in APAC, Europe & Americas time zones).
Participate in our online community by asking questions, exchanging peer support and innovation resources.
Get access to exclusive training opportunities around the topic of innovation.
Host different activities in your local office or online that nurture an innovation culture and mindset.
Why become an A-Team or an Innovation Champion?
Local A-Team Community members will..
Be the first to hear about and register for exclusive Innovation@WWF trainings, workshops and events (eg: design thinking, AI for conservation etc)
Be invited to test or collaborate on new innovation initiatives across the network (eg: Innovation Festival etc)
Receive support from the Innovation@WWF Team to learn new tools and skills, develop your leadership and implement innovation activities in your local office.
Be recognised as a leader for Innovation in your office and the broader WWF network (visibility on our website and featured in our newsletter)
Be part of a movement within our network and make new friendships among like-minded Pandas who are passionate about innovation to drive conservation impact!
Who can participate?
Individual Champions, WWF offices (NO/CO), WWF INT teams or regional teams can register. It is not required to already work on innovation. Leadership (which in this case means CEO or Conservation Director) should ideally be supportive.
How to register?
There is a short form that helps us get to know you and understand your interest.

Did we mention it’s also a lot of fun?!
A training series to build internal capacity to communicate, design and facilitate innovation support for conservation and operations colleagues, enabling them to increase their impact!
Dream of enabling conservation colleagues to accelerate the impact of their projects?
Love creative problem solving and curious to see how to leverage this in your office?
Driven to take your innovation skills to the next level?
Today, 20+ local A-teams, 5+ innovation champions and several innovation-dedicated staff are active across the WWF network.
A-teams are 4-15 people teams that support, and co-build an innovation culture in their office. (Yellow)
Innovation Champion are individuals that catalyse a culture of innovation in their local office. (Orange)
Innovation Staff represent full or part time roles dedicated to advance the topic of innovation in their office. (Purple)
The challenges of the world are complex, the speed of change is enorm, new technology disruptive and our recent solutions are not bending the curves. The answer can't be more work for those already working to tackle conservation issues and doing the operational work to support. We need new ideas, now approaches, incremental and transformative innovation. For innovative ideas to flourish you need a fruitful soil - a culture supporting innovation. This is exactly what this community aspires to expand. We need the whole network to jump on board. We need you to lead the change locally with our support.
You can join the A-Team Community as an individual champion as well until you grow a team.
Local A-Teams consist of 4-15 members which aim to support the innovation culture and processes within the WWF office. The team builds up specific skill-sets and aims to introduce new innovation methods into WWF to enable employees to think out of the box and tackle challenges of their work and beyond. Each team identifies key innovation barriers and opportunities locally and designs activities based on those.
These activities then get implemented by members of the local team - they range from training, to process facilitation, to discussion spaces, to coaching, etc. They are also the first to know about upskilling and training opportunities from the Innovation@WWF team, are able to test and provide feedback on new offers, and collaborate on joint local-global initiatives such as the Innovation Festival.
Sign up via this form and we’ll reach out to discuss the next steps!
Reach out to us and we’d be happy to discuss how you can be more involved!
