Yinuo (Nora) Peng

My name is Yinuo Peng. I am a second-year student in the Master of Science in Psychological Science program at UIUC, working with Dr. Frances Wang and Dr. Diane Beck on research about human perception, cognition, and machine learning.

I received a B.S. in Psychology with Distinction from UIUC in 2022. As a former undergraduate at UIUC, I can provide advice about succeeding in undergraduate-level courses, especially on topics such as attention, perception, and cognition. I can also advise on pursuing undergraduate research opportunities through various resources on campus (e.g., Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program).

If you have any questions about conducting research, I can provide insights from my experience creating programs in PsychoPy, collecting data in SONA, and analyzing quantitative data with Excel, R, and Python. If you are interested specifically in learning to code, I will be holding office hours dedicated to coding support. With my design and presentation experience, I can also help you prepare for PowerPoint or poster presentations, the Undergraduate Research Symposium, or conferences with advice on design, content, public speaking, and the nuances of professionalism.

With my working experience in HR and experience with applying to graduate school, I can help you write and refine resumes/CVs for internships in industry or academic positions.

As an international student, I am happy to help students having trouble with courses, adjusting to new environments, having professional verbal or email communications with professors, or dealing with academic pressure and stress. I am here to help with anything I can.
