Austin Ashley

My name is Austin Ashley, and I’m a 2nd year master's student in the MSPS Program with a concentration in cognitive psychology, but my research also involves social and developmental psychology. So, I could provide guidance and resources relevant to doing intra-disciplinary research or pursuing these tracks for graduate study.

With my experience creating IRB proposals and experimental procedures, conducting experiments, and using the SONA system, I’m happy to provide guidance and insight into using those research methods. Also, I can help any undergrads who are looking for research opportunities on campus, especially within the Department of Psychology.

I have experience with giving poster presentations for both conferences and research symposia and have written a few meta-analyses and gone through the process of publishing articles in several research journals, so I can share my experiences with those processes. I can also help you with deciding if a specific graduate school program is right for you and help with preparing materials for applications (e.g., CVs, resumes, emails.)

I have knowledge of several Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion opportunities for both undergraduates and graduates as well as several tips for navigating academia as someone diagnosed with ADHD. If you’d like someone to discuss either of those topics with, I can do my best to help you.

I’m here to help you with any of the topics I have experience in and am open to helping you find other resources if need be. Feel free to bring up any other topics you might want to discuss, and I can let you know if I am able to help. If I can’t help you directly, I might be able to put you in touch with someone who can.
