All projects, whether paper or poster, should have a safety sheet that is signed by the sponsor. In addition, every poster board must display an abstract & safety sheet.

If you are using firearms, please read the manual for guidelines.
Students working with burning materials should use a fume or chemical hood.
Human test subjects who are used for exercise-related projects should have a physical on file.
Please fill out the Human as Test Subject endorsement form for any projects using human subjects (even if they are simply used in surveys).
Students may not culture any microorganisms unless they were purchased from a reputable seller. Proof of the source should be available.
Projects involving microorganisms must be done in a laboratory or classroom, with the exception of baker’s yeast.
Students who produce alcohol in the experiment must have permission from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms before the experiment is conducted.
Any project done under the guidance of a scientist in a professional lab must include a letter on the institution's letterhead stating that all safety guidelines for that laboratory were followed and that the student was supervised.
Goggles must be worn throughout the experiment – ensure that any photos taken throughout the experimental procedure follow the safety guidelines.
