Workshop on Flipped Classroom organized at the ICTIEE2024, KLE Technological University, Hubli

The team comprising Dr. Rajlaxmi Chouhan (Associate Professor, EE), Ms. Radhika Amashi (PhD Student, CETE), and Dr. Vijayalakshmi M. (Head, CSE, KLE Technological University, Hubli) conducted a workshop on 'Developing a successful video-based flipped classroom: Creation, execution, and learning analytics' at the The International Conference on Transformations in Engineering Education (ICTIEE2024), 02 - 04 January 2024, Hubli, Karnataka.

Prof. Bijnan Bandyopadhyay, Head CETE, elected as a Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy

The CETE congratulates Prof. Bijnan Bandyopadhyay on being elected as a Fellow of lndian National Science Academy! This fellowship is in recognition of Prof. Bandyopadhyay's significant contributions in the area of systems and control engineering, and will be effective from January 01, 2024.

The CETE has started a weekly seminar series, CETE Colloquium, where faculty members and PhD students would discuss their areas of interest.

Coverage of IIT Jodhpur's Workshop on Implementation of NEP in the media

Mr. Pratyush Roy, Engineer, Education Team, Mathworks India, conducted a MATLAB Workshop on 27 July 2023 in hybrid mode for the students and faculty members of IIT Jodhpur. The workshop was organized by the CETE and was attended by about 135 members who joined the workshop in online (110) and offline modes (25). 

Trinity College Dublin delegation visit CETE IIT Jodhpur (Feb 2023)

Prof. Timothy Savage and Dr. P. J. Wall from Trinity College Dublin visited IIT Jodhpur during 20-24th Feb 2023. At Trinity College Dublin (a QS Top 100 University), Prof. Timothy holds a joint appointment with the Schools of Education and School of Computer Science. He has a deep expertise in education pedagogy and education technology, owing to his experience of more than 2 decades in the discipline. He was also the first Dean of Trinity Online initiative and helped setup its first online and MOOC courses. During his visit, he interacted with the Head and the affiliate faculty members of Centre for Education & Technology for Education (CETE). He shared his experience and commended IIT Jodhpur for taking such an initiative integrating Education, Pedagogy, and Education Technology. 

The CETE organized a half-day workshop on 25 July 2023 to discuss the progress in implementation of NEP 2020. The workshop was attended by 25 officials from various educational Institutions, including heads from Higher Education Institutions of Jodhpur such as MBM University, JIET, JNVU, LMCST and Schools, such as, Heads of KVs, Bodhi International school, Mayoor Chopasini School, Rajmata School among others. After opening remarks by Prof. Santanu Chaudhury, Director, IIT Jodhpur, and Prof. S. R. Vadera, Deputy Director, the attendees actively deliberated on the progress made so far in terms of NEP implementation and discussed various challenges that lie ahead. The panel discussion at the workshop highlighed an integrated approach to learning and teaching, thus aligning with one of the primary visions of the NEP 2020. Prof. Santanu Chaudhury, Director, IIT Jodhpur at the workshop talked about the initiatives taken by the Institute to revamp academic curriculum to bring in elements of flexibility thereby enabling the students to choose curriculum of their choice. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Rachel Philip.

Game Demonstration at Institute Open House (Apr 2022)

BJT Rider, An educational Game on Bipolar Junction Transistors, designed & developed by Akanksha Raj, Aklovya Gupta and Rajlaxmi Chouhan, was made available for visiting public and school students during the Institute Open House on 20 April 2022.

Best Presentation Award at ICIET 2022 (Apr 2022)

Paper by Kshitij Sanodariya, Mayank Shekhar, Atharva Pandey, Akanksha Raj, Aklovya Gupta, Pawandeep Suryavanshi and Rajlaxmi Chouhan, titled "Game-based Learning for Engineering Education: Supplementing Basic Electronics Instruction with Educational Games," received the  Best Presentation Award in Web-based Learning, Game-based Learning and Online Discussion Analysis at the 10th IEEE International Conference on Information and Education Technology (ICIET 2022), April 9-11, 2022, Matsue, Japan.
