The SEG-IIT(ISM) Student Chapter hosted Earth Echoes at the department, a spirited debate competition, on 26th January 2025. First-year Int. M.Tech and M.Sc.Tech students showcased sharp thinking and oratory skills on topics ranging from wind energy and space exploration to polar policies and the role of Earth Sciences. The event featured vibrant discussions, reflecting a deep enthusiasm for Geosciences and global issues.

SEG EVOLVE is a mentor-supported virtual internship where multidisciplinary teams collaborate to develop essential knowledge by combining technical and commercial data for informed business decisions, laying the groundwork for career success.
The program covers exploration workflows, subsurface characterization, and training in economics and business management, all of which are applicable to oil & gas exploration, carbon storage, geothermal energy, and other fields that require the integration of geology, geophysics, petrophysics, engineering, business, and communication skills.
The program focuses on global solutions to address the world's energy challenges, offering two key tracks: Energy Exploration and Carbon Solutions.
