FIRST TRANSNATIONAL MOBILITY

FROSINONE, 12TH-18TH MARCH, 2018

The first transnational meeting of the project took place in Frosinone, Italy, from the 12th to the 18th March, 2018. On the 13th March, the I.I.S. "BRUNELLESCHI/DA VINCI" has welcomed 10 teachers and 20 students from The Netherlands, Greece, Poland and Romania with a warm welcoming ceremony in the Great Hall of the school. The principal of the school, Mrs Patrizia Carfagna, and the major of Frosinone, Mr Nicola Ottaviani, have underlined the importance of the aims of the project and the necessity to comply with the necessity to build up a real European awareness and citizenship. Foreign students and Italian ones had the chance to compare their educational institutions and way of living by means of a series of video and power point presentations. Some sports activities were arranged too in order to enhance students to make friends, with the collaboration of the Italian P.E. teacher, Stefania Pallini.

In the afternoon, the partners of the project participated to a classical music concert performed by a large orchestra of the local junior high school, "Luigi Pietrobono". In the evening, a welcoming dinner was offered to the foreign guests.

Coordinated by their teachers, Mrs Anna Maria Di Nota, Edina Furlan and Carla Spaziani, the Italian students planned and carried out the decoration of the great hall, the musical entertainment, the presents and the welcoming light lunch for the international guests but, most of all , they designed and printed the official poster of the meeting.

On Wednesday, 14th March , the Italian and foreign students worked on the cleaning of the school's bed of flowers and they planted new plants annd flowers. The Italian students had previously carried out the surveying and the AutoCad design of the beds of flowers with their teacher, Mr Massimiliano Pupparo.

WORKING TOGETHER TO THE BED OF FLOWERS

In the afternoon, students and teachers visited the lower part of the city with Mrs Edina Furlan, Anna Maria Di Nota and Laura Tolmino.

On Friday, 16th students worked together in the AutoCad lab to create the project's logo using Tagul. They were divided into mixed groups. At the end of the morning, they displayed and explained their works to teachers and mates and voted to choose the best one. The most voted one was Maria Prochot's one, representing five hands as the five participating countries, so stressing the importance of practice.

AND THE WINNER IS...

Friday afternoon was dedicated to the visit of the upper part of the city and of the local archaeological museum, where students and teachers could witness Frosinone's pre-roman origins with the Italian teachers Edina Furlan, Fiorella Fratarcangeli and Carla Spaziani. It was also the occasion to practically learn to mould clay as prehistorical people used to do under the supervision of the museum's guide. Students were given their works and they could take them home as a souvenir of this interesting and pleasant experience.

Trips

Saturday 17th was dedicated to a trip to Rome by coach guided by the italian teachers Laura Masi and Alvaro De Luca. Teachers and students visited St Peter's, the Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain , the Coliseum and Rome's most beautiful sights.

EXPERIENCING LOCAL FOOD AND SIGHTSEEING

On Sunday, the Dutch group was invited to lunch by one of the Italian student's family. It was the occasion to taste local food with a huge Sunday meal and to celebrate one of the teachers' birthday. They visited Collepardo caves and the beautiful Monastery of Trisulti

The week was of course dedicated to working on the project as well. Important issues were discussed and planned also due to the Romanian meeting in May.
