Flag football is a variant of American football where, instead of tackling players to the ground, the defensive team must remove a flag or flag belt from the ball carrier to end a down, and contact is not permitted between players.
Flag football is played with two teams of 5-8 players who try to score points by moving the ball down the field across the goal line. The team that ends with the highest number of points at the end of the time is the winner.
Flag Football has been around since as early as the mid-1800's. Some of the first college games can be recorded back to 1895. The first ever game being between Princeton and Rutgers.
Flag football started to be played during the Second World War, in the USA (United States of America)
During 1940 the military personnel would play “Touch and Tail” football that we now know as flag football.
The game was developed on military bases as a "hobby" and sport for military personal to play to keep fit during World War II.
The game was started for military personnel to play without getting injured during wartime.( It is believed that the history of flag football was first recorded at Fort Meade and Maryland, they think that it was born there )
Local leagues were formed as military personnel returned home in the 1950s and 1960s.
It is still played throughout the United States at the middle school, high school and college level. Many cities have developed their own adult flag football leagues.
We should remember that the Flag Football is a Non-Contact sport. There's no tackling, diving, blocking, screening or fumbles.
Here you have some rules:
All passes must be forward and received beyond the line of scrimmage.
Only direct handoffs are permitted—there are no laterals or pitches anywhere on the field.
The quarterback has seven-second pass clock to get rid of the ball.
The quarterback can’t run with the ball unless it was handed off first.
Offensive players must steer clear of the rusher and may not get in his/her way.
Any defensive player lined up seven yards off the line of scrimmage is eligible to rush.
All offensive flag football penalties result in a loss of down and yardage.
All defensive flag football penalties result in an automatic first down and some are associated with yardage.
You can't guard your flag by using your hands or any part of your body.
You can go after a flag and fall while you are trying to grab it but, if you're diving to try and get that flag, that is not allowed. (You could get hurt, and the player that has the flag could also get hurt)
You can't stop a player from runing their route or stop a player from trying to take another player's flag. (This one could be an accident or not)
You can't grab another player's belt.
You can't hold/grab other player's clothing.
You shouldn't argue with a referee. (They are not gonna change what they're calling)

-In NFL Flag games, teams of 5 players pass and run with the ball trying to advance down the field. The team with the ball is called the offense and the team without the ball is called the defense. The latter try to stop the offensive plays by ripping the Flag off the belt of the player who has the ball.
Functioning of the party:
1st step: The game starts with all the players correctly positioned, one of them starts the game passing the ball to one of his partners, normally positioned behind him, it is not necessary to be positioned that way as there are other ways to start.
2nd step: Then, the team that has the ball, tries to cross the line, whereas (while) the other team tries to take the ball away from them by taking their tags.
Quarterback: The quarterback receives the snap and passes the ball or hands it off (they aren’t allowed to run with the ball after the snap)
Center: The center snaps the ball to the quarterback and then can run for a pass as a receiver
Wide receiver: Depending on the play, some 5 on 5 teams field three receivers, or a couple receivers and a running back. The receiver runs designated routes to catch a pass (usually right and left receivers)
Running back: The running back takes a hand off and runs with the ball or throws it. They’re also eligible to receive a pass
6.Football defense positions
Defensive back: The defensive back covers wide receivers, either man-to-man or zone
Safety: The safety stands further back from the line of scrimmage and is responsible for stopping opponents who get loose
Rusher: The rusher attempts to prevent the quarterback from passing the ball (must be at least seven feet off the line of scrimmage at the snap to rush the passer)
It has a width of 30 yards and a lenght of 70 yards.

The American Flag Football League was founded (AFFL) in 2016.
In Spain, the Dragons, a team from Barcelona, have promoted flag football throughout the country.
There isn't official flag football league in Spain, but there are small competitions.
During the first years of the sport's expansion, the United States didn't win any world competitions, although being the country where the sport originated. From 2010 onwards, the USA started to win the world champions.
