Immigration has been a major source of population growth and cultural change throughout much of United States history.
The United States has a larger immigrant population than any other country, with 50 million immigrant, that makes the 15.42% of the USA population. There are more female than male inmigrants.
main comunities come from Mexico(24%), India(6%), China(5%), the Philippines (4.5%) and El Salvador (3%).

The Green Card is a permanent residence for the people that haven't got the USA nationality.
If you want to get a green card to live in USA, there are several ways:
1. Be the spouse of an American
2. Be a child under the age of 21 of a USA citizen.
3. Be the parent of a USA citizen who is at least 21 years old.
4. Participate in a lottery that the State organizates (50,000 green cards are drawn each year).
Apart from having one of these requirements, you have to pay a lot of money.
