Further laws were passed that made discrimination illegal and provided federal oversight to guarantee voting rights.

In the period, an active foreign policy was pursued to help Western Europe and Asia recover from the devastation of World War II. The Marshall Plan helped Western Europe rebuild from wartime devastation.

The main American goal was to contain the expansion of Communism, which was controlled by the Soviet Union.

In 1949 on Washigton D.C the United States created the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) to fight the USSR (Union Socialist Soviet Republics)

The Vietnam War

It was a war between United States,North Vietnam,South Vietnam, Soviet Union and China (logistic support)
It starts the 1st of November 1955 and end on 30th April 1975
This war starts with North Vietnam(Communists) try to eliminate the South Vietnam(Anti-Communists) to create only one country. Then the EEUU helps South Vietnam to defend their territory, also the USSR helps North Vietnam to create only one country
