Saturday, April 12th

1. As announced previously, the 29th Annual Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam and Science Fair will take place on April 27th. Faculty should encourage students to participate, and give them extra credit for it in Gradebooks.

   1. • Students and parents must read through the Participant Guidelines and complete the Participation Form by April 20th. The Participation Form is linked within the Guidelines. As always, the guidelines and form are only accessible via IHS Account.

      • Student and Parents have been encouraged to reach out to Faculty Members for advice, help and coaching. Faculty should help with advice and tips for a strong project and presentation. Students and parents may also reach out to IHS Administration: school@iechusaini.org. 

2. With the end of the academic year approaching, faculty should plan and prepare to conduct 2nd semester exam reviews on May 18th and exams on May 25th.

   1. • Faculty should make sure students are prepared for Exams in each subject, and communicate details with student's and parents, to ensure they are on track to finish the semester strong, insh'Allah!

3. Faculty are requested to nominate one student in their class who they think went above and beyond in their learning experience and should be recognized as a Star Student by all of IHS. 

   1. • A written explanation of why the student is deserving of the award should be submitted via email to IHS Central (school@iechusaini.org) by May 25th latest.

4. Faculty should plan to attend the annual IHS Awards & Recognition Ceremony, to honor our amazing students for completing another academic year of Islamic education, and to recognize the sincere efforts and service of the faculty and staff. The ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 1st.

   1. • A special lunch, fun drinks, and dessert will be provided for all IHS family members after the ceremony, to celebrate the end of another successful academic year, alhamdu'lillah!

      • Fun activities and games will also be set up for students to enjoy inside and outside.

5. If a faculty member has NOT read the Previous Faculty Announcements for this academic year, please read them as soon as possible so you are up-to-date on all IHS faculty related information. Not being informed about all information will hurt your teaching experience and, in turn, the student's educational experience.

Saturday, March 15th

1. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, IHS will only be in session for 3 weeks during Ramadan. Check the calendar for details.

Saturday, February 22nd

1. As a reminder, Gradebooks are available to enter points as the 2nd semester progresses. Points for homework, participation, or extra credit, such as participation in the Azadari Art Exhibition, or the upcoming Islam and Science Fair, etc., can be entered for the relevant dates. 

   • 1. Gradebooks can easily be accessed from the "Faculty Resources" section above.

     2. Instructions on how to enter grades are included in the Gradebooks folder. Instructions include 5 basic steps.

     3. For any assistance, faculty should reach out to Department Heads or email IHS Central, school@iechusaini.org.

2. The IHS session schedule will NOT be adjusted for the holy month of Ramadan. School will be in session during normal hours, 10:30 am - 1:30 pm.

3. Daylight savings time will begin on Sunday, March 9th. The IHS session schedule will adjust accordingly, and 3rd period will be effected, see below.

4. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, the annual Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam and Science Fair (ISF) will be held in April. Faculty should begin encouraging students to participate and for them to begin thinking of strong topics related to Islam and Science. The guidelines and participation form will be released soon!

5. Saturday, January 18th

1. Gradebooks are available to enter 1st Semester Grades. Gradebooks also include a tab for 2nd Semester, so grades may be entered as the new semester progresses. Gradebooks can easily be accessed from the "Faculty Resources" section above.

   1. • Instructions on how to enter grades are included in the Gradebooks folder. Instruction include 5 basic steps.

      • 1st Semester grades should be entered into Gradebooks by January 26th latest.

      • For any assistance, faculty should reach out to Department Heads or email IHS Central, school@iechusaini.org.

2. The 3rd Annual IHS Lady Zainab (sa) Azadari Art Exhibition is scheduled for January 26th (as listed in AY calendar), during school hours. This unique event is a vital element to the overall curriculum, similar to the 29 year long Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam & Science Fair, which continues.

   1. • All participating students will be awarded with plaques. Faculty should encourage students to participate in this dynamic and unique event, and provide bonus points for students' 2nd semester grades.

      • Parents/students should read the Guidelines and complete the Participation Form.

      • Classes will not be in session during the Azadari Art Exhibition, but faculty are encouraged to attend to support students.

4. Faculty members must make themselves familiar with IHS Online for the January 19th session, and for possible future sessions. Whenever in-person operations are not safe (weather, etc.), IHS Online will be activated to continue the Islamic educational process.

   1. • Access the IHS Online section of the website, and review all of the information, most importantly the Rules and Instructions.

      • Practice joining your IHS Online classroom and be familiar with the features and options.

      • Online support is available in the IHS Online Lounge & Support Room during school hours, available under IHS Online Links. 

      • Questions should be sent to IHS Central, school@iechusaini.org.

5. Saturday, December 14th

1. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place during the week of December 15th. All faculty members should follow the instructions and suggestions below, to schedule Parent-Teacher Conferences.

   1. • Conferences should take place in NON-SCHOOL HOURS, beginning Sunday, December 15th - Saturday, December 21st. All classes will be in session as normal on Sunday, December 15th and 21st.

      • Faculty may use IHS Online Classrooms to conduct conferences. There will be special links for each subject in each grade, so faculty do not use the same online classroom. Using online classrooms will help faculty and parents practice using IHS Online. Faculty may choose to use their own platform to conduct conferences.

      • Each faculty member must provide time slots to parents to select from in advance. Conferences should be scheduled for a minimum of 10 minutes each. Provide time slots as soon as possible.

      • Confirm conferences have been completed by emailing IHS Central - school@iechusaini.org. For parents that do not schedule/attend a conference, please list the student's name in the confirmation email.

2. IHS will be closed for Winter Break on December 29th. Check the Academic Year Calendar for details. School will be in session as normal for all other dates.

   1. • Faculty are humbly requested to arrive to class spaces at least 2 minutes before the scheduled class start time for every session.

3. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, 1st Semester Exams are scheduled to take place on January 12th. Faculty must not hold exams later than this date.

   1. • Exam Review details should be shared with students and parents as soon as possible. 

      • Exam printing or any assistance, must be requested IN ADVANCE by Saturday 9:00 pm before the exam date, using the TRPO Request Form, available above under Faculty Resources.

      • Faculty should make sure students are prepared for Exams in each subject, and communicate details with student's and parents, to ensure they are on track to finish the semester strong, insh'Allah!

      • Semester Grades will be due by January 26th. Faculty must submit grades in Class Gradebooks, which will be made available soon.

4. The 3rd Annual IHS Lady Zainab (sa) Azadari Art Exhibition will take place on January 26th (as listed in AY calendar), during school hours. This unique event is a vital element to the overall curriculum, similar to the 29 year long Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam & Science Fair, which continues.

   1. • Students will have the opportunity to put their artistic talents on display through paintings, drawings, models, or other forms of art.

      • Parents/students should read the Guidelines and complete the Participation Form.

5. A special "Relive 8th Shawwal" Virtual Reality Experience organized by the Baqee group, will take place on December 22nd during 3rd period for 9th-12th grade students only. Everyone will have the opportunity to view the heartbreaking events of 8th Shawwal, when Jannat al-Baqee was destructed.

   1. • 9th-12th grade 3rd period faculty will not have class on December 22nd.

      • Faculty not teaching during 3rd period are more than welcome to take part in the Baqee VR experience, or take part after 3rd period during lunch.

6. Faculty members must make themselves familiar with the IHS Online/Google Meet platform. IHS Online will be activated if in-person operations are not safe (weather, etc.) to continue the Islamic educational process.

   1. • Access the IHS Online section of the website, and review all of the information, most importantly the Rules and Instructions.

      • Practice joining your respective IHS Online classroom and getting familiar with the features and options.

      • Online support will always be available in the IHS Online Lounge & Support Room, available under the IHS Online Links. Questions should be sent to IHS Central, school@iechusaini.org.

7. Saturday, October 19TH

1. Faculty are expected to arrive to their class space at least 2-3 minutes BEFORE the scheduled class start time.

   1. • Late-arrivals and extensive absences negatively effect students. Please do your part in being consistent and on-time.

      • Absences or Late-Arrivals MUST be reported to IHS Central (text/email) as soon as possible, to allow for appropriate planning.

      • Faculty are expected to be familiar with the Academic Year Calendar, Session Schedule, and overall IHS website. The calendar and schedule are available on the IHS homepage for easy access.

2. Daylight Savings Time will end Sunday 11/3. The IHS class schedule will be adjusted to make time for Prayers earlier. The schedule link will be updated to what is listed below on 11/2, until the Start of Daylight Savings Time on Sunday, 3/9/25. 

   1. • Beginning 11/3 - 1st Period - 10:50-11:30 am | 2nd Period - 11:30-12:10 pm | Zuhr/Asr - 12:15-12:40 pm | 3rd Period - 12:45-1:25 pm

3. Faculty must remember to communicate weekly through Class WhatsApp groups to update parents on the topic(s)/lesson(s) covered in each weekly session. Confidential matters, such as grades or other issues, should be communicated to parents privately, and not via groups. 

   1. • Parents need to be reminded of what they need to do in order to be a partner in their child's Islamic education. Communicating with them frequently, and as needed, will remind them that without their partnership their student will not be successful at IHS.

      • Faculty members are humbly requested to add any missing parents to the Class WhatsApp group, based on any updates to Student-Parent Contact Lists. For students who are not officially registered, please remind students to ask their parents to complete registration.

4. To continue effective, efficient, and organized operations, faculty are reminded to use the Technology, Resources, Printing, or Other (TRPO) Request Form, available above under "Faculty Resources".

   1. • Faculty must remember to submit all TRPO Requests by 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays, in order for the request to be fulfilled on time.

5. A new Anonymous Feedback Form will now be available on the IHS homepage for the IHS community to provide any feedback they do not want to share directly. The hope is the Anonymous Feedback Form provides everyone a private avenue for sharing constructive feedback.

   1. • The form will be accessible via IHS Account only, but it will NOT collect email addresses, and will remain completely anonymous. This is to prevent outside users from inappropriately using the form.

6. Saturday, September 21st

1. All faculty are expected to be familiar with the Academic Year Calendar, Session Schedule, and overall IHS website, most importantly the "Faculty Portal" section.

   1. • Faculty should strive to arrive for their scheduled class period, at least 5 minutes before the start time, and to their class space at least 1-2 minutes before, so classes may begin on time, and fellow faculty may leave on time. 

      • Absences or Late-Arrivals MUST be reported to IHS Central (text/email) in a timely manner.

      • If you have not done so already, please save IHS Central contact information in your phone as "IEC Husaini School" so you can easily text or email.

2. To ensure effective, efficient, and organized operations, faculty MUST use the Technology, Resources, Printing, or Other (TRPO) Request Form, available above under "Faculty Resources".

   1. • Faculty must remember to submit all TRPO Requests by 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays, in order for the request to be fulfilled on time.

3. Student-Parent Contact Lists are now available with the information on record. Contact lists may be accessed from the link under "Faculty Resources" (above). Contact lists will only be accessible via IHS Account.

   1. • Select the appropriate tab for your grade at the bottom of the Contact List Spreadsheet.

      • Student/Parents who do not appear on a list have not completed a Registration Form yet. Please ask students/parents to review the Registration section of the website and complete the form at the end. Students/Parents will be added as Registration Forms are completed.

4. Faculty & Parent WhatsApp groups are available for communication purposes. There will be only be one group per grade, with all faculty members for each department included.

   1. • All registered parents have been emailed with link(s) to join their students' Class Grade WhatsApp Group(s). Parents of newly registered students will need to use the link to join their respective WhatsApp Group(s). Continuing parents should already be included in their respective group(s), but can also use the link(s) emailed to join.

      • Communicate weekly through the WhatsApp groups to update parents on the topic(s)/lesson(s) covered in each class session. Confidential matters, such as grading matter, behavior, or other issues, should be communicated to parents privately, and not via groups. 

      • Parents need to be reminded of what they need to do in order to be a partner in their child's Islamic education. Communicating with them frequently, and as needed, will remind them that without their partnership their student will not be successful at IHS.

5. All faculty and students now have access to the Course Materials for their classes/grades. As with everything, the materials are only accessible through an IHS Account.

   1. • Theology Books will not be available to download, but PRINTED BOOKS will be provided next week. Electronic books must be accessed each time from the Course Materials section of the IHS webpage via IHS Account.

      • Quranic Studies materials are available to all IHS Accounts, and the Quran Made Easy book is also electronically available for younger students.

      • Course Materials can be accessed directly from the Faculty Portal (above), or from under the Students & Parents tab.

6. Faculty who missed the Orientation Meeting on Saturday, September 7th must take the time to review the meeting information from the Faculty Meetings folder. The folder includes the meeting agenda and presentation slides.

   1. • It is very important for all faculty to be familiar with the Faculty Orientation Meeting information, so please review it as soon as possible.

Monday, September 2nd

We graciously welcome all of our new faculty to IHS, and with equal graciousness, welcome back our returning faculty, for the 2024-2025 academic year, Alhumdu'lillah! We look forward to another dynamic academic year ahead, insh'Allah! Together, we will continue to help develop IHS into preeminent institution of Islamic education, and produce exemplary young Muslims and future leaders of the world, insh'Allah!
Please read the important Announcements below.

1. The Faculty Roster is available for review of class assignment(s), the period(s) you will teach, and your IHS Account. If any names, phone numbers, or other information is incorrect, please notify IHS Central school@iechusaini.org, and indicate the correction.

   • • New faculty members' IHS Account information has been sent to their personal email address, with instructions on how to activate the account. Anyone with an existing IHS Account will continue to use the same one.

     • If you have trouble signing in to your IHS Account, please email our Associate Administrator for IT, Br. Ali Abbas - ihsit@iechusaini.org, or IHS Central - school@iechusaini.org 

     • Please ensure emails from IHS Central (school@iechusaini.org) are not going to your junk/spam folder. Mark IHS emails as not junk/spam.

     • Begin checking your IHS email frequently, as all communications will be sent to your IHS Account/email address moving forward, and NOT to your person email address.

2. All faculty, new and returning, are humbly requested to attend the Faculty Orientation Meeting, virtually, on Saturday, September 7th, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm in the IHS Online Lounge, to go over important information in regard to Opening & Orientation Day, and the overall academic year. If you are not able to attend, please notify IHS Central via text or email.

3. Make yourself familiar with the IHS website; iechusaini.org/school, especially this Faculty Portal section. Important announcements, content and resources will be available in the Faculty Portal section and the overall website. It is important each faculty member is familiar with the website.

4. For Opening & Orientation Day, September 8th, all faculty members are requested to conduct faculty, student, and parent introductions, a general overview of your class expectations, and what students can expect to learn in your class. We would like all faculty members to begin a connection with their students, and partnership with the parents, through these opening introductions. For Opening & Orientation Day, one parent for each student has been requested to attend classes.

   • • All classes/periods will take place, but for a shorter period of time.

       • 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - Assembly and School Orientation for Students, Parents and ALL Faculty

       • 11:35 a.m - 12:00 p.m. - 1st Period

       • 12:00 p.m - 12:25 p.m. - 2nd Period

Saturday, May 18th

1. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, 3rd Quarter Exams should take place by June 2nd. Faculty are highly encouraged to hold exams on June 2nd, and not earlier, so there can be maximum attendance on the last day for the Awards & Recognition Ceremony.

   • 1. Exam Review details should be shared with students and parents as soon as possible. 

     2. 3rd Quarter Grades will be due by June 16th. Faculty must submit grades in the updated Class Gradebooks introduced last quarter. Details are included in the next announcement.

     2. Attendance Forms are accessible from two locations: 1) "Faculty Resources" section above.  2) In the "Description" section in the "Faculty Notifications" WhatsApp group.

Saturday, April 6th

1. The IHS Ramadan Schedule will continue on April 7th. Beginning Sunday, April 14th, the normal IHS Schedule of 10:30 am - 2:00 pm will reconvene.

   1. • Please strive to arrive a few minutes before your class is scheduled to begin. This sets a good example for your students and shows them the importance of time management skills.

2. Updated Class Gradebooks are available to enter 2nd Quarter Grades. Gradebooks also include a tab for 3rd Quarter, so grades may be entered as the current quarter progresses. They can always easily be accessed from the "Faculty Resources" section above.

   1. • Completing Gradebooks reduces work for faculty by not having to send grades to individual parents/students and seperately provide records to Administration. It also provides the opportunity to generate official IHS Report Cards that are automatically sent to parents and students via email.

      • Updated instructions on how to enter grades are included in the Gradebooks folder. Instruction have been simplified to just 5 basic steps.

      • 2nd quarter grades should be entered into Gradebooks by April 14th latest.

      • For any assistance, faculty should reach out to their Department Heads or email IHS Central, school@iechusaini.org.

1. As announced in February, Daylight Savings Time will begin tomorrow, Sunday, March 10th. The IHS session schedule will adjust back for 3rd period faculty. Please see below.

      • As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, IHS will not be in session on March 31st in observance of the Martyrdom of Imam Ali (as).

      • Faculty should ensure they arrive before scheduled class start times: 1st period: 3:00 pm, 2nd period 3:40 pm, 3rd period 4:20 pm.

4. To better commemorate the Martyrdom of Imam Ali (as), the IHS Annual Student-Led Majlis-e-Aza will now take place during the regular IEC Youth Majlis and Kids Workshop programs.  IHS will be in session for all classes on March 24th, 2:40 - 5:00 pm. Faculty should  encourage their students to participate, and should attend themselves, to encourage our Young Scholars and Azadars.

5. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, the annual Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam and Science Fair (ISF) will be held in April. Faculty should encourage students to begin thinking about strong topics that are related to Islam and Science. The guidelines and participation form will be released soon!

Saturday, February 17th

1. 2nd Quarter Exams will now take place on March 10th. Exams were originally scheduled for March 3rd, but due to the school closing for February 25th, the schedule has been adjusted by a week.

2. The monthly Special Session for the various student age groups will take place this Sunday, February 18th, during 2nd period. 

   • 1. The monthly Special Sessions normally take place on the last Sunday of each month, unless if there is a scheduling issue, or another in-school event is to take place during the month (e.g. Student Majlis, Islam & Science Fair, etc.)

     2. Special sessions will be held during different class periods each month, rotating throughout the academic year.

3. The IHS Annual Student-Led Majlis-e-Aza will take place on Sunday, March 24th after 1st period. Faculty should  encourage their students to participate, and should attend themselves, to encourage our Young Scholars and Azadars. The Majlis will also be broadcasted via IEC's YouTube Livestream so Azadars of all ages may also join from around the world.

4. Daylight savings time will begin on Sunday, March 10th. The IHS schedule will adjust accordingly, please see below.

Saturday, January 6th

1. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled to take place during the week of January 21st. All faculty members should follow the instructions and suggestions below, in order to schedule Parent-Teacher Conferences.

   1. • Conferences should take place in NON-SCHOOL HOURS, beginning Sunday, January 21st - Saturday, January 27th. All classes will be in session as they normally are on Sunday, January 21st and 28th.

      • Faculty members are encouraged to use their grade's IHS Online Classroom to conduct conferences. Special links will be created for each subject/department for each grade, so faculty do not end up using the same online classroom. Using online classrooms will help faculty and parents practice using IHS Online, and allow faculty and parents to see one another. Faculty may choose to use their own platform to conduct conferences.

      • Each faculty member must provide times slots to all student's parent(s) to select from in advance. Conferences should be scheduled for a minimum of 10 minutes with each student's parent(s) in the class. Please provide your time slots as soon as possible, to all parents. Remember to refer to the Student-Parent Contact Lists.

      • Discuss the students' progress with each parent and areas for improvement. Students with excessive absences, should also be discussed with their parents. Student attendance records for 1st quarter will be provided in the Student-Parent Contact Lists.

      • All conferences must be completed by Saturday, January 27th. After completing all conferences, please confirm that you have met with ALL student's parent(s). If any parent(s) did not attend a conference, please list their name. The confirmation for completing all conferences should be sent to IHS Central - school@iechusaini.org by Sunday, January 28th.

2. All faculty must make themselves familiar with the IHS Online/Google Meet platform. If in-person operations are not possible (weather, etc.), IHS Online will be activated to continue the Islamic educational process. All faculty must be familiar with IHS Online.

   1. • Access the IHS Online section of the website, and review all of the information, most importantly the Rules and Instructions.

      • Practice joining the the IHS Online Assembly Hall and also your respective online classroom.

      • Online support will always be available in the IHS Online Lounge & Support Room, available under the IHS Online Links. 

      • Questions or concerns can be sent to IHS Central, school@iechusaini.org.

3. We are excited to announce the 2nd Annual IHS Lady Zainab (sa) Azadari Art Exhibition on February 4th (as listed in the AY calendar), which will take place during school. This new event was launched in AY 22-23, and is an added element to the overall curriculum, similar to the 28 year long Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam & Science Fair, which still continues.

   1. • Students will have the opportunity to put their artistic talents on display through paintings, drawings, models, or other forms of art. All displays of art must follow Islamic guidelines, which will be noted in the upcoming guidelines.

      • The theme for the 2nd Lady Zainab (sa) Azadari Art Exhibition will be Lady Zainab (sa) herself, the person who this event is dedicated for.

      • Faculty should encourage all their students to partcipate and to begin thinking of ideas for their art projects, and how they can relate them to "Lady Zainab (sa)". Suggestions and ideas will also be provided in the upcoming guidelines.

      • All participating students will be awarded with plaques, and faculty should encourage all students to participate in this dynamic and exciting event. Share the Guidelines and Participation Form.

4. To continue ensuring effective, efficient, and organized operations, faculty members MUST use the Technology, Resources, Printing (TRP) Request Form.

   1. • Faculty must remember to submit all requests through the TRP Request Form by 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays, in order for the request to be fulfilled on time.

      • The TRP Request Form is always available under the "Faculty Resources" section above.

1. The IHS Class Gradebook & Report Card initiative was introduced last month, and developed to continue the drive to use innovative and efficient technology at IHS. Faculty members are required to enter grades into their Class Gradebook, which will help generate official IHS Report Cards that will automatically be sent to parents via email for their students. Faculty will only be required to enter grades into their Gradebook, and that's all!

   1. • Faculty members must watch the Gradebook Tutorial Video to learn how to use the Gradebook for their class. Each faculty member will have their own Gradebook for their respective class subject. An email was also sent in this regard, and individual Gradebook access will be provided soon.

      • 1st quarter grades should be entered into Gradebooks after watching the Gradebook Tutorial. Grades must be entered into Gradebooks by December 17th latest.

      • Please DO NOT delay this process, and ASK FOR HELP as needed. This initiative has been implemented to make the faculty work easier, and to provide a more professional and official method of sharing grades with parents.

      • For any assistance, faculty should reach out to their Department Heads, email IHS IT, ihsit@iechusaini.org, or IHS Central, school@iechusaini.org.

      • Gradebooks are available in the "Central Folder", which can be accessed from under the Faculty Resources section above.

2. As a reminder, the IHS Class Syllabi should be used by all faculty to document what topic/lesson is being covered in each session.

   1. • Faculty are humbly requested to read the instructions in detail, and begin working on their respective Class Syllabus.

      • Instructions, examples, and respective Class Syllabi are available in the "Syllabi by Classes" folder, within the Central Folder, which can easily be accessed from the Faculty Resources section above.

      • Faculty are kindly requested to complete their respective Class Syllabus for 1st Quarter by Saturday, December 30th.

3. Faculty must remember to communicate weekly through Class WhatsApp groups to update parents on the topic(s)/lesson(s) covered in each weekly session. Confidential matters, such as grades or other issues, should be communicated to parents privately, and not via groups. 

   1. • Parents need to be reminded of what they need to do in order to be a partner in their child's Islamic education. Communicating with them frequently, and as needed, will remind them that without their partnership their student will not be successful at IHS.

      • Faculty members are humbly requested to add any missing parents to the Class WhatsApp group, based on any updates to Student-Parent Contact Lists. For students who are not officially registered, please remind students to ask their parents to complete registration.

2. Faculty who missed the Faculty Meeting on Sunday, November 5th must take the time to review the meeting information from the Faculty Meetings folder. The folder includes the meeting agenda.

   1. • All faculty must be familiar with the important information discussed at the meeting. Please review the information as soon as possible.

      • It is very important for all faculty to participate in Faculty Meetings, since important discussions take place. The faculty voice is needed at all meetings.

Saturday, October 21st

1. Faculty are expected to arrive to their class space at least 2-3 minutes BEFORE the scheduled class start time.

   1. • Late-arrivals and extensive absences negatively effect students. Please do your part in being consistent and on-time.

      • Absences or Late-Arrivals MUST be reported to IHS Central (text/email) as soon as possible, to allow for appropriate planning.

      • Faculty are expected to be familiar with the Academic Year Calendar, Session Schedule, and overall IHS website. The calendar and schedule are available on the IHS homepage for easy access.

   1. • 1. It is very important for all faculty to participate in Faculty Meetings, since important discussions take place. The faculty voice is needed at all meetings.

4. Faculty must follow and help enforce IHS's safety and security protocols. We are working to develop a more robust set of guidelines and procedures. Faculty must be aware of and help enforce the following:

   1. • If a student needs to be picked up earlier than 1:20 pm, parents MUST come inside through the main entrance (new building), and check-out their student at the front reception table. Parents should wait at the reception table, and students will be brought their by one of the IHS Central Command team members.

      • Students should NEVER exit the building during school hours, unless they are checked-out by an IHS Central Command team member, Faculty, or Administration member.

      • We are keeping the current unfortunate social climate in mind, and the IEC/IHS Security Team will be taking heightened measures during school hours and other events.

      • Further more, if any one is sick or even feeling any symptoms of sickness, they are humbly requested to stay home for the safety of all the others.

5. Daylight Savings Time will end Sunday 11/5. The IHS class schedule will be adjusted to make time for Prayers earlier. The schedule will be as listed below beginning 11/12, until the Start of Daylight Savings Time on Sunday, March 10th. 

   1. • Please note, since on 11/5 there is a Faculty Meeting, the schedule will be further adjusted just for 11/5:

Friday, September 15th

1. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, IHS will resume this Sunday, September 17th on normal schedule. All faculty are expected to arrive and be prepared for their classes at the scheduled time.

   1. • Absences or Late-Arrivals MUST be reported to IHS Central (text/email).

      • Faculty are expected to be familiar with the Academic Year Calendar, Session Schedule, and overall IHS website. The calendar and schedule are available on the IHS homepage for easy access.

2. Student-Parent Contact Lists are now available with the information on record. Contact lists may be accessed from the link under "Faculty Resources" (above). Contact lists will only be accessible via IHS Account.

   1. • Select the appropriate tab for your grade at the bottom of the Contact List Spreadsheet.

      • Student/Parents who do not appear on a list have not completed a Registration Form yet. Please ask students/parents to review the Registration section of the website and complete the form at the end. Students/Parents will be added as Registration Forms are completed.

3. Faculty & Parent WhatsApp groups are now available for communication purposes. There will be only be one group per grade, with all faculty members for each department included. Administration has taken on this task to support the faculty and relieve them of this work.

   1. • All registered parents have been emailed link(s) to join their students' Class Grade WhatsApp Group(s). Parents of newly registered students will need to use the link to join their respective WhatsApp Group(s). Continuing parents should already be included in their respective group(s), but can also use the link(s) emailed to join.

      • Communicate weekly through the WhatsApp groups to update parents on the topic(s)/lesson(s) covered in each class session. Confidential matters, such as grades or other issues, should be communicated to parents privately, and not via groups. 

      • Parents need to be reminded of what they need to do in order to be a partner in their child's Islamic education. Communicating with them frequently, and as needed, will remind them that without their partnership their student will not be successful at IHS.

4. IHS Account information for new faculty was sent to personal emails. Faculty must activate their IHS Account immediately, and use them to access or create all IHS related content, and use them for email communications.

   1. • Continuing faculty from the past academic year will use their existing IHS account. If a faculty member does not remember their username or password, please email IHS IT: ihsit@iechusaini.org.

5. All faculty and students now have access to the Course Materials for their classes/grades. As with everything, the materials are only accessible through an IHS Account.

   1. • 1. Theology Books will not be available to download, but PRINTED BOOKS will be provided this week. Electronic books must be accessed each time from the Course Materials section of the IHS webpage via IHS Account.

        2. Quranic Studies materials are available to all IHS Accounts, and the Quran Made Easy book is also electronically available for younger students.

        3. Course Materials can be accessed directly from the Faculty Portal (above), or from under the Students & Parents tab.

6. Faculty who missed the Faculty Orientation Meeting on Friday, August 25th must take the time to review the meeting information from the Faculty Meetings folder. The folder includes the meeting agenda and presentation slides.

We graciously welcome all of our new faculty to IHS, and with equal graciousness, welcome back our returning faculty, for the 2023-2024 academic year, Alhumdu'lillah! 1. Take note of your class assignment(s), the period(s) you will teach, your IHS Account, and contact information, from the Faculty Roster & Class Assignments. If there is any information that is incorrect, please notify IHS Central school@iechusaini.org, and indicate the correction.

   • New faculty members' IHS Account information will be sent to their personal email inbox, with instructions on how to activate the account. Anyone with an existing IHS Account will continue to use the same one.

For Opening & Orientation Day, August 27th, all faculty members are requested to conduct faculty, student, and parent introductions, a general overview of your class expectations, and what students can expect to learn in your class. Saturday, May 27th

1. The 27th annual Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam & Science Fair was a major success, mash'Allah! May Allah (swt) and the Ahl-ul-Bayt (as) reward and bless all the participants, their parents, and faculty, for their hard work and efforts.

   • • 57 projects were presented to judges, students, faculty, administration, and community members. So many people learned from our students and their amazing projects!

     • The recording of the 27th Islam and Science Fair can be viewed on IEC's YouTube channel for all to view and learn from: IHS 27th Annual Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam and Science Fair.

2. A special IHS After Hours, with delicious unlimited dessert for students and faculty, will be held Sunday, May 28th to begin our celebrations for the end of the Academic Year.

   • • Activities will take place outside for everyone, including the delicious dessert, after lunch.

     • A special basketball game will also take place between a Faculty/Student Team vs an Administration Team.

3. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, 3rd Quarter Exams should take place by June 4th.

   • • Exam Review details should be shared with students and parents as soon as possible. 

     • 2nd Quarter Grades will be due by June 18th. Faculty must submit grades through the IHS Gradebooks that were introduced last month. Details are included in the next announcement.

     • Exam printing, or any other assistance, should be requested IN ADVANCE by Saturday 9:00 pm. Faculty must use the TRP Request Form for any printing requests.

     • Faculty should make sure their students are prepared for their 3rd Quarter Exams in each of their subjects. Faculty are also encouraged to communicate with their student's parents to ensure they are on track to end the academic year strong.

4. As a reminder, the new Class Gradebook & Report Card initiative was introduced last month to continue the drive to use innovative and efficient technology at IHS. Faculty members are able to enter grades into their Class Gradebook, which will generate official IHS Report Cards that will automatically be sent to parents via email for their students. 

   • • This will help eliminate the work faculty members currently do to send grades to parents individually and also provide them for record to Administration. Faculty will now only be required to enter grades into their Gradebook, and that's it!

     • Faculty members must watch the Gradebook Tutorial Video to learn how to use the Gradebook for their class. Each faculty member has their own Gradebook for their respective class subject.

     • 3rd quarter grades should be entered into Gradebooks after watching the Gradebook Tutorial. Grades must be entered into Gradebooks by June 18th.

     • Please DO NOT delay this process, and ASK FOR HELP as needed. This process has been implemented to make the faculty work EASIER, and to provide a more professional and official method of sharing grades with parents.

     • For any assistance, faculty should reach out to their Department Heads, or email IHS IT, ihsit@iechusaini.org or IHS Central, school@iechusaini.org.

5. The annual IHS Awards & Recognition Ceremony, to recognize our amazing students, faculty, and staff will take place on Sunday, June 4th.

   • • The ceremony will take place following Zuhr/Asr Prayers.

     • A special BBQ will be held for the school community after the ceremony to celebrate the end to another successful academic year.

     • Activities will also be setup for everyone to enjoy outside.

6. Faculty are requested to submit the name of one student in their class, who they think went above and beyond in their educational goals and learning, and should be recognized as a Star Student by all of IHS. A written explanation of why the student is deserving of the award should be submitted via email to IHS Central (school@iechusaini.org) by June 1st, latest.

1. IHS will not be in session this Sunday, April 9th, in observance of the Days of Martyrdom of Imam Ali (as), and for the Imam Ali (as) Martyrdom Procession on Devon Ave., April 9th, 3:00 p.m. The Academic Year Calendar has been updated to reflect this change.

   1. • IHS will resume again on April 16th with the Ramadan School Schedule, and be closed again on April 23rd for the Eid-ul-Fitr weekend, as already scheduled. The normal 10:30 a.m. schedule will resume again on April 30th.

1. The Inaugural Lady Zainab (sa) Azadari Art Exhibition will take place this Sunday, March 19th during normal school hours. We hope everyone, including your family and friends will attend this new, unique, and one of a kind event, insh'Allah!

   1. • All faculty should attend, as they normally would, for the support and encouragement of the students, and also to help guide and engage with students who are not participating from your class.

      • Faculty should remind and refer parents and students with questions or concerns about the Exhibition to the Student & Parent Announcements, and to contact IHS Central.

2. Beginning March 26th, the IHS schedule will be adjusted for the holy month of Ramadan. 

   1. • The school session will take place from 4:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m., March 26th - April 2nd

      • April 9th - 16th, the session will take place from 4:45 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. 

      • Parents should ensure their students arrive for the school session on time.

Friday, March 3rd

1. As previously announced, IHS will be organizing the Inaugural Lady Zainab (sa) Azadari Art Exhibition on March 19th, which will take place during school. This new event will be an additional element to the overall curriculum, similar to the 27 year long Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam & Science Fair, which will still take place in May.

   1. • Students have the opportunity to put their artistic talents on display through paintings, drawings, models, or other forms of art. All displays of art must follow Islamic guidelines.

      • For the first Lady Zainab (sa) Azadari Art Exhibition, the theme will be "Jannat Al-Baqee", in commemoration of the 100th year since Al-Baqee has been demolished. Students will develop their art work in connection to Jannat Al-Baqee. For this year, the Azadari Art Exhibition will be a collaborative event with the Baqee Organization.

      • Faculty should encourage their students to participate and read the Guidelines for the Azadari Art Exhibition. The Participation Form is linked in the Guidelines to register. Faculty should persuade all students to take part in this new and one of a kind event!

      • Selected projects will be displayed at the Baqee Museum, and selected students will have the opportunity to be interviewed by Baqee TV, to speak about their art projects. ALL student participants will be honored with awards and recognition!

1. The Academic Year Calendar has been updated with a few significant changes. All faculty should review the updated Academic Year Calendar and take note of the following important updates:

   1. • A new annual event has been added to the AY Calendar, which will take place this year on March 19th. Details are provided below in announcement #2.

      • IHS will be open and in session on April 30th. All faculty are encouraged to attend the Baqee Protest in Washington D.C. on Friday, April 28th. Buses have been organized for the protest, and they will return back to Chicago by Saturday afternoon. For more details, visit: www.baqee.org.

      • The annual Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam & Science Fair will take place in May, near the date of His Martyrdom anniversary.

   1. • All three faculty members for each grade (Theology, Quranic Studies, and Language), should have scheduled conferences with each students' parent.

      • Faculty should confirm meetings with ALL student's parent(s) have been completed by emailing IHS Central - school@iechusaini.org by Sunday, January 29th . If any parent(s) did not meet for a conference, please list the student's name in the confirmation email.

2. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, 2nd Quarter Exams are scheduled to take place on February 19th.

Special Educational Sessions provide an opportunity for all students and faculty to have an Islamic educational experience outside of their normal class setting for one period.

   1. • All faculty must attend each special session as they normally would to teach their class. Faculty will be required to be with their students.

      • The special session this month will take place in second period. All second period faculty will stay with their students for the special sessions and engage in the educational opportunity with their students.

      • First and third period classes will take place as normal. Faculty for those periods are welcome to attend the special sessions with their students in the designated period, but should be prepared for their normal class.

      • Males 6th Grade and up will have a special session with Moulana Saiyed Mehboob Mehdi Abidi Al-Najafi for one period.

      • Females 3rd Grade and up will have a special session with Khanum Syeda Asma Abidi for one period.

      • Males KG -5th and Females KG-2nd, will have a special interactive session for one period, organized by the talented IEC Kids Workshop team.

5. The IHS Lounge has become even more popular, and several faculty and parents have expressed interest in sponsoring or providing the refreshments. 1. The agenda and presentation slides from the Faculty Meeting on Wednesday, January 11th are now available for everyone to review. Faculty Members who missed the Faculty Meeting should make sure they review the agenda and presentation slides from the Faculty Meetings folder within the Central Folder.

   • Several important topics were discussed at the meeting, anyone who missed any part of the meeting should review the agenda and presentaion. 

2. As a reminder, and as listed in the Academic Year Calendar, Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place the over this upcoming week of January 15th. All faculty members should follow the instructions and suggestions below, in order to schedule Parent-Teacher Conferences.

   • Conferences should take place in NON-SCHOOL HOURS, beginning Sunday, January 15th - Saturday, January 21st. All classes will be in session as they normally are on Sunday, January 15th and 22nd.

   • Faculty members are encouraged to use their grade's IHS Online Classroom to conduct conferences. Special links will be created for each subject/department for each grade, so faculty do not end up using the same online classroom. Using online classrooms will help faculty and parents practice using IHS Online, and allow faculty and parents to see one another. Faculty may choose to use their own platform to conduct conferences as well.

   • Each faculty member must provide times slots to all student's parent(s) to select from in advance. Conferences should be scheduled for a minimum of 10 minutes with each student's parent(s) in the class. Please provide your time slots as soon as possible, to all parents. Remember to refer to the Student-Parent Contact Lists.

   • Discuss the students' progress with each parent and areas for improvement. Students with excessive absences, should also be discussed with their parents. Student attendance records for 1st quarter will be provided in the Student-Parent Contact Lists.

   • All conferences must be completed by Saturday, January 21st. After completing all conferences, please confirm that you have met with ALL student's parent(s). If any parent(s) did not attend a conference, please list their name. The confirmation for completing all conferences should be sent to IHS Central - school@iechusaini.org by Sunday, January 29th.

If in-person operations are not possible, IHS Online will be activated to continue the Islamic educational process. 2. On behalf of both of our Aalims, faculty members are humbly requested to attend an in-person Faculty Meeting on Wednesday, January 11th, 7:00 - 8:30 pm at IEC. A delicious dinner will be provided, along with snacks, dessert and drinks!

   • It is important for faculty to attend meetings and take part in the discussion. Faculty members are encouraged to share agenda items to discuss in advance.

   • Absences for the meeting must be reported to IHS Central via text or email as soon as possible.

Thursday, December 8th

1. In observance of the Martyrdom of Lady Fatima Zehra (sa), IHS will now be closed on December 25th. School will open again on January 1st. The Academic Year Calendar has been updated to reflect this switch in closing days for winter break.

2. 1st Quarter Grades must be sent by December 11th, to students/parents privately, and grades must also be submitted to the IHS Central email, with your Department Head copied on the email.

Friday, November 18th

1. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, 1st Quarter Exams are scheduled to take place beginning November 20th.

   • Exam Review details should be shared with students and parents. 

   • 1st Quarter Grades will be due by or before December 11th. Grades must be sent to students/parents privately, and grades must also be submitted to IHS Central, with your Department Head copied on the email.

   • Exam printing, or any other assistance, should be requested IN ADVANCE by Saturday 9:00 pm. Please read printing procedures below.

2. All faculty IHS Accounts should be activated by now and in use for all IHS related work. 

   • If a faculty member is not able to access their IHS Account, or any of the important materials accessible via IHS Account, please contact IHS Central, school@iechusaini.org right away.

3. As a reminder, to ensure smooth, organized, and effective operations, faculty members MUST now email materials to print IN ADVANCE of each school session by Saturday 9:00 pm. Faculty must email the attachment, including the number of prints needed, the grade and period, and any other details, to the IHS Central email, school@iechusaini.org. 

   • Similar to this process, the Technology & Resources Request Form was introduced last month in order for faculty to submit requests for the use of technology and other resources (whiteboards and other supplies). Faculty should use this form to make tech. and resources requests, and the form is always available under the "Faculty Resources" section above.

4. Alhumdu'lillah, as you may have already seen, we have purchased 16 new dividers, in addition to the 8 IEC already had, to provide more effective class spaces in our never ending pursuit to provide a better educational environment. These dividers provide significant noise-reduction and also less distractions.

   • Faculty should ensure they and their students will respect the dividers and not damage them in anyway. Furthermore to prevent unnecessary wear and tear, faculty or students should never touch or move the dividers in anyway.

   • Any changes needed for divider setups should be sent to IHS Central or requested of the Central Command team.

1. Faculty are expected to arrive to their class area at least 2-3 minutes BEFORE the scheduled start time. Any late-arrivals or absences should be reported to IHS Central as soon as possible.

5. Alhumdu'lillah, we have had continued positive growth at IHS over the last few years, especially in student registration numbers. This academic year, with the return to in-person schooling, we have had even more exponential growth, mash'Allah! Parents and students should rest assured that IHS Administration is addressing this welcomed growth, by finding solutions for more effective class spaces.

   1. • Available sound reducing dividers are being used for some class spaces in order to provide a quieter and more private class.

      • Further more, the Administration is working diligently with IEC Management to ensure that every class has quieter and more private space.

Monday, September 26th

1. IHS will resume this Sunday, October 2nd. Due to the Student Majlis-e-Aza, only 1st period classes will take place. Classes for 2nd and 3rd period will resume on October 9th.

   • • As always, any late-arrivals or absences MUST be reported to IHS Central (text/email).

     • If you have not done so already, remember to add IHS Central contact information to your phonebook as "IEC Husaini School" or "IHS", so you can easily email or text.

     • All faculty members are expected to be familiar with the Academic Year Calendar, Session Schedule, and the Faculty Portal.

2. The IHS Annual Student-Led Majlis-e-Aza will take place this Sunday, October 2nd at 11:30 am, after 1st period classes.

   • • Moulana Seyed Hadi Yassin of California, a Certified Professional Coach specializing in child development, parenting, and relationships, will recite the Majlis for the benefit of all of our students and parents.

     • All faculty are encouraged to attend, and Azadars of all ages, from around the world are invited to attend in-person or online, in order to give their condolences to Lady Fatima Zehra (sa), and to motivate and support our Young Scholars and Azadars. The Majlis will be broadcasted via IEC's YouTube Livestream.

3. Student-Parent Contact Lists have been updated with the most up-to-date information on record. Contact lists may be accessed from the link under "Faculty Resources" (above). Contact lists will only be accessible via IHS Account.

        2. Quranic Studies materials are available to all IHS Accounts, and the Quran Made Easy book has also been added this year for younger Quranic Studies students.

We graciously welcome all of our new faculty to IHS, and equally graciously welcome back our returning faculty, for the 2022-2023 academic year, Alhumdu'lillah! We look forward to another dynamic year ahead, after overcoming 2+ years of unprecedented challenges, mash'Allah! As previously announced, IHS will return to in-person schooling at IEC with the start of our academic year on August 21st. Together, we will continue to develop IHS into preeminent institution of Islamic education, and produce exemplary young Muslims and future leaders of the world, insh'Allah!

1. Take note of your class assignment(s), the period(s) you will teach, your IHS Account, and contact information, from the Faculty Roster & Class Assignments. If there is anything that is incorrect, please email IHS Central school@iechusaini.org, and indicate the correction.

   • • New faculty members' IHS Account information has been sent to their personal email inbox, with instructions on how to activate the account. Anyone with an existing IHS Account will continue to use the same one.

     • If you have trouble signing in to your IHS Account, please email our Associate Administrator for IT, Br. Ali Abbas - ihsit@iechusaini.org, or IHS Central - school@iechusaini.org 

     • Please ensure emails from IHS Central (school@iechusaini.org) are not going to your junk/spam folder. Mark IHS emails as not junk/spam.

3. Faculty are humbly requested to attend a Faculty Meeting, virtually, on Wednesday 8/17, 7:00 - 7:45 p.m., to go over important information in regards to Opening & Orientation Day, and the rest of the academic year. If you are not able to attend, please notify IHS Central via text or email.

For Opening & Orientation Day, August 21st, all faculty members are requested to conduct faculty and student introductions, a general overview of your class expectations, and what students can expect to learn in your class. 1. Congratulations to all Faculty members for successfully completing the 2021-2022 academic year, and insh'Allah our last one online! May your hard work and dedication to Islamic education be rewarded and may you and your families be blessed by Allah (swt) and the Ahl-ul-Bayt (as)! Faculty members are the most crucial component of IHS, and without the amazing faculty, this community would not benefit through IHS.

   • Faculty who were not able to attend the Awards & Recognition Ceremony can arrange a pickup of their Certificate of Dedicated Service, and any earned Awards, by emailing IHS Central: school@iechusaini.org. Certificates and Awards will also be available to collect at the start of the next academic year.

2. Faculty members are kindly requested to share (with parents/students) and submit (to Administration) 3rd Quarter Grades for their respective classes if they have not done so already, latest by June 18th. As stated in the Faculty Handbook, grades should be shared with students and parents confidentially, and a list of all student grades should be submitted to Department Heads and copied to IHS Central Email, school@iechusaini.org.

   • Faculty member who have not yet submitted their 3rd Quarter Exam for record, should send to/share it with IHS Central Email and copy your Department Head. 

   • For Google Forms exams, DO NOT send the link, please add IHS Central and your Department Head by the "ADD COLLABORATOR" option.

3. For the 2022-2023 academic year, faculty members are requested to take important note of the following information:

   2. 3rd Quarter Exams should take place on June 5th, via IHS Online during normal school hours.

An IHS Account must be used in order to RSVP for all family members. It is very important for all faculty to RSVP if they are attending, so we can prepare accordingly, insh'Allah!

7. The 26th annual Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam & Science Fair was a major success, mash'Allah! May Allah (swt) and the Ahl-ul-Bayt (as) reward and bless all the participants, their parents, and faculty, for their hard work and efforts.

   1. 35 projects were presented to judges, students, faculty, administration, and community members. So many people learned from our students and their amazing projects!

   2. This was also the first time we were back as an IHS family in 2 years and 2 months! We look forward to bringing our IHS family back to our home IEC, full-time, beginning in academic year 2022-2023 in August.

   3. The recording of the 26th Islam and Science Fair can be viewed on IEC's YouTube channel for all to view and learn from: IHS 26th Annual Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam and Science Fair.

8. IHS Online will resume again on Sunday, May 22nd, 10:30 am - 12:45 pm for the remainder of the academic year. Students should be prepared to join the online Assembly on time followed by their classes.

1. The IHS 26th Annual Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam & Science Fair will take place this Sunday, May 15th onsite at IEC, insh'Allah, at 10:30 a.m. with the normal Assembly.

   • This will be the first time in-person as an IHS family in 2 years 2 months! We hope everyone will attend the Islam & Science Fair, to learn from the participant's projects, and come together again with the IHS family. 

   • The Awards Ceremony will take place after the fair at 1:15 pm, and will also be broadcasted via IEC's YouTube Livestream. Everyone is encouraged to attend or watch the ceremony.

   • Lunch and refreshments will be served!

2. IHS Online classes will resume again on Sunday, May 22nd, 10:30 am - 12:45 pm, for the remainder of the academic year. Students should be prepared to join the online Assembly on time followed by their classes.

On behalf of our A'alim, Moulana Saiyed Mehboob Mehdi Abidi Al-Najfi, and our Principal, Moulana Sheikh Mohammad Javad Saadatmand, all Faculty Members are appreciated and thanked for the endless hard work and efforts put in to ensure the children of our community are educated in Islam. Faculty members are the backbone and frontline of IHS, and in extension, our whole community. With sacrificed time and energy, and a loving and caring hearts, faculty members are helping to develop exemplary Muslims, and future leaders of the world, insh'Allah! Faculty members can never be appreciated or thanked enough for their services, which they go above and beyond in! 3. Faculty members are requested to highly encourage Student/Parents to participate in the 26th Annual Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam and Science Fair on May 15th. After two-years, the Islam & Science Fair will be in-person again and on-site at IEC, insh'Allah! Last year we had a successful first-ever virtual Islam & Science Fair, and we look forward to build on that momentum in-person this year! Faculty members should encourage all students/parents to participate.

   1. Students and parents must read through the Participant Guidelines, and register to participate. The Registration Form is linked within the Guidelines.

   2. Student and Parents will be encouraged to reach out to their Faculty Members for advice, help and coaching. Faculty members should help provide good advice and tips for a strong project and presentation. Student and parents may also reach out to Administration: school@iechusaini.org. 

   3. Class Grades with the highest percentage of participants will earn a special class prize, including the Faculty Members! All faculty should encourage their students to take part, so their class grade can earn a special class prize!

Friday, April 15th

1. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, IHS will be closed on April 24th in observance of the Martyrdom of our beloved Imam Ali (as), and in preparation for Shab-e-Qadr. IHS will resume on May 1st with the current Ramadan Schedule.

Friday, April 1st

1.  The IHS schedule will be adjusted for the holy month of Ramadan. The school session will take place from 1:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. starting this Sunday, April 3rd - May 1st. Faculty should remember join their class at the appropriate time.

   • Faculty should also message student/parent WhatsApp groups to remind them of the Ramadan schedule.

2. Faculty members are kindly requested to share (parents/students) and submit (Administration) 2nd Quarter Grades for their respective classes if they have not done so already. As stated in the Faculty Handbook, grades should be shared with students and parents confidentially, and a list of all student grades should be submitted to Department Heads and copied to IHS Central Email, school@iechusaini.org.

   • Faculty member who have not yet submitted their 2nd Quarter Exam for record, should send to/share it with IHS Central Email and copy your Department Head. 

   • For Google Forms exams, DO NOT send the link, please add IHS Central and your Department Head by the "ADD COLLABORATOR" option.

3. IHS Class Syllabi Project details and instructions were already emailed to all faculty members.

   • Faculty are humbly requested to read in detail, the email sent in regards to the Class Syllabi Project, if you have not done so already.

   • Instructions, examples, and respective Class Syllabi are also available in the Central Folder, which can easily be accessed from above under "Faculty Resources".

   • Faculty are kindly requested to complete their respective Class Syllabus as soon as possible. The original completion date was set for March 26th, but we understand more time may be needed.

4. The annual Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as) Islam and Science Fair (ISF) will take place on Sunday, May 15th.

   • Faculty should encourage all of their students to take part in the ISF, and offer them incentives in class to do so.

   • Grades with the highest percentage of participants will earn a special class prize.

   • We hope to host the ISF this year in-person on site at IEC, insh'Allah!

Saturday, February 26th

   • Exam Reviews must be conducted this Sunday, February 27th. Please message student/parents to remind them of the reviews and exam.

   • Exams should be submitted for record, to IHS Central Email and your Department Head should be copied on that email. 

   • If you have a Google Forms exam, DO NOT send the link, please add IHS Central and your Department Head via the "ADD COLLABORATOR" option.

   • Faculty needing assistance in creating a Google Form exam, or any other help, MUST email IHS Central with the exam questions, answers, and point values for each question. Request for assistance MUST be submitted by Sunday, February 27th.

   • 2nd Quarter Grades will be due by or before March 20th. Grades must be sent to students/parents privately, and grades must also be submitted to IHS Central, with your Department Head copied on the email.

2. A'alim Theology class visits will continue this Sunday with 20 minute visits to 7th and 9th grade.

   • Faculty members should proceed with lesson plans, and our A'alims will observe and then engage with the students based on the lesson.

Saturday, February 12th

1. Faculty Members who missed the monthly Faculty Meeting for January should make sure they view the recording from the Faculty Meetings folder in the Central Folder. All faculty members must attend monthly meetings as stated in the Handbook in the Meetings section. 

   • Several important topics were discussed at the meeting, anyone who missed any part of the meeting should view the recording. 

2. All Parent-Teacher Conferences should have already been conducted by now. 

   • Please confirm that you have met with ALL student's parent(s) by emailing IHS Central. The email can simply state "I have completed conferences with all my students' parents".

   • If any parent(s) did not attend a conference, please list their name, or student's name, in the email.

   • Please share any feedback or concerns that may have developed through the Parent-Teacher Conferences in the confirmation email.

Saturday, January 22nd

1. Faculty Members are humbly requested to attend the monthly Faculty Meeting, which will take place on Sunday, January 30th, 1:15 - 2:15 pm in the IHS Online Lounge. All faculty members must attend monthly meetings as stated in the Handbook in the Meetings section. 

   1. It is important for faculty to attend monthly meetings and take part in the discussion. Faculty members are encouraged to share agenda items to discuss in advance.

   2. Absences for the meeting must be reported to IHS Central via text or email as soon as possible.

2. As listed in the Academic Year Calendar, Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled to take place this coming week, beginning January 23rd. All faculty members should follow the instructions and suggestions below, in order to schedule Parent-Teacher Conferences.

   1. Conferences should take place during NON-SCHOOL HOURS, beginning Sunday, January 23rd - Saturday, January 29th. All classes will be in session as they normally are on Sunday, January 23rd.

   2. Each faculty member must provide times slots to all student's parent(s) to select from in advance. Conferences should be scheduled for a minimum of 10 minutes with each student's parent(s) in the class. Please provide your time slots as soon as possible, to all parents. Remember to refer to the Student-Parent Contact Lists.

   3. Make sure to discuss the students' progress with each parent and areas for improvement. Students with excessive absences, should also be discussed with their parents. Student attendance records for 1st quarter can be found in the Student Records folder in the IHS Central Folder.

   4. All conferences must be completed by Saturday, January 29th. After completing all conferences, please confirm that you have met with ALL student's parent(s). If any parent(s) did not attend a conference, please list their name. The confirmation for completing all conferences should be sent to IHS Central - school@iechusaini.org by Sunday, January 30th.

   5. Faculty members are encouraged to use their own IHS Online Classroom to conduct conferences, but please make sure your fellow faculty members from your grade are not using it at the same times. Using online classrooms will help parents get the full experience their students have, and allow faculty and parents to see one another. Faculty may choose to use their own platform to conduct conferences as well.

3. The next Assembly Trivia Game (ATG) will take place on February 6th at 1:15 pm in the IHS Online Assembly Hall. Faculty should encourage their students to participate and test their knowledge for all the Assembly items from January.

   1. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from EACH age group will win Amazon Gift Cards.

   2. Information, Rules, and Recommendations about the ATG can be found in the Assembly Leader Materials section.

   3. Names of winners from previous ATGs can also be found in the Assembly Leader Materials section.
