Ihs Online
ihs online BAckground
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, IHS took an unprecedented and historical step by launching IHS Online. All classes were virtually in session simultaneously, as they would be in-person, along with a virtual IHS Lounge & Support Room. It was our greatest hope to create an online environment, which mirrored our in-person IHS sessions. IHS Students, Faculty, Parents, and Administration members seamlessly transitioned to IHS Online on March 15th, 2020, and did not miss even one session for the 2019-20 academic year, and beyond. Islamic education is no less than our general education, and to instill these ideals in our students, these historic steps were taken to move our Islamic education online. At the Islamic Education Center, the Islamic education never stops!
After effectively completing 2+ academic years of IHS Online (2020-2022), we are able to ensure the Islamic education process can continue effectively, efficiently, and safely, whenever in-person operations may not be possible.
If IHS Online will be in session, in place of in-person schooling, the school community will be notified, and the "IHS Online" link will be available on the homepage. IHS Online can also be accessed from the "Students & Parents" tab/section.
IHS Online Rules & Instructions:
Everyone MUST use their IHS Account when joining IHS Online.
If you are signed into a Google Account, make sure you sign out/switch so the IHS Account can be used.
If you are not able to access your IHS Account, please email ihsit@iechusaini.org or school@iechusaini.org, with the student's full name and grade.
Microphones must be kept on "Mute" until students are asked to speak. Students can "Un-mute" when they need to speak only.
Cameras MUST BE KEPT ON and Student MUST BE appropriately visible. Students will be counted absent if their camera is not on, or if they are not appropriately visible. Faculty and students being able to see one another is beneficial and effective in the teaching and learning process.
Students must NOT use the chat option, or any other option, while school is in session, unless specified by their Faculty Member or an Administration Member.
Multiple IHS members in one household should separate themselves as much as possible during the session. It causes disruption in classes if multiple IHS members are sitting near one another.
Parents must periodically monitor their students during online classes to ensure they are behaving and following all the rules. Tracking records are kept of each online class session, and misuse/misbehavior will result in disciplinary action or being removed from the class.
