Ms. Carcione's students in 650,660,670,680 and 690 corresponded with Peyton Samantha, a 3 year old who has leukemia.
After an exchange of letters between the students and Payton's mother, they met and played with Peyton in Ms. Carciones classroom. Developing empathy and awareness in action. Citizenship and life lessons learned.

I think we should start using renewable sources of energy at Ditmas. The good thing is that we can use it again and again. It will give us clean air and water and will also be safe for sea creatures. It is possible that we could run out of fossil fuels one day. We will never run out of renewable energy!

Ditmas hosted its annual "Open House" on October 29th.
Oct 29th, 2019 Ditmas held its annual articulation Open House. The focus of this auditorium and school tour is to showcase the ways in which our veteran caring administration, staff and students join together in academically rigorous instruction and life lesson rich experiences. A common thread of the musical, testimonial, and informational presentations was the love administration, staff and students had for the school. These pictures taken by a student leader convey that.

I drew a wolf because wolves are animals that work together. That reminds me of how humans also work together, just like wolves. They draw together, work together, travel together and even hunt together.
