In this biology/life science event, participants answer questions relating to genetics and heredity. Click here for rules!
Useful Overview
This event requires a lot of information to be learned, and doing practice tests is also a great way to study for it. Information tested includes:
DNA replication and cell replication
Heredity: Punnett squares, dihybrid crosses
Genetic disorders
DNA repair
Gene expression
Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium
During competition, since there are so many questions, splitting up the test (with each person focusing on different topics) is the best course of action.
