Study Event:
Welcome! As the name suggests, in this event we will be learning about cells. The event focuses on cell parts, cancer cells, the cell cycle, DNA replication, the endomembrane system, and much more! For anyone currently taking AP Bio, this event will strongly align with AP Bio curriculum but anyone interested in biology can compete!
Participants: 2
Materials:
1 double sided piece of paper
Writing utensils
Calculator?
Unfortunately, due to only having 1 sheet of paper, a lot of the event falls on memorization. To learn things, use flashcards, khan academy, and introductory biology classes online. You could also ask Mr. DeAngelis (or someone who took his class) for his slideshows/notes.
Once you have a lot of the fundamentals, take a bunch of practice tests to review and see what you need to know more about. Some topics not covered in AP Bio are included in the test.
Split-up the test! This is a very fast paced exam so circle questions you don't know and let your partner figure them out.
If you have any further questions, there’s a good chance they’re answered in the official rules otherwise, ask your partners (on both teams). Good luck, and have fun!
