My Child is Caring
There's nothing more caring than the heart of a child! Students show that they care by being aware of and sensitive to the needs of those around them. Encourage their kind and caring behaviors by acknowledging them.
Model for your child how to be caring (because they are always watching and hear EVERYTHING!): use kind words, display unprompted acts of kindness (hold a door open for someone; help a neighbor with their trashcans; smile and wave to a stranger at the grocery store).
Get your family involved with community organizations, and show your children the many ways that we can help others.
Read books, and point out and then discuss the caring acts of others: How did that act of kindness make those involved feel? Who do you think benefits the most from caring gestures?
Model caring for our planet and those people that will live on it after us by working to preserve it through recycling, clean energy, etc.
Last, but not least, a smile and a hug can go a long way in showing others that we care for them. :-)
