We had an incredible year here in the Primary School Library. Students learned about how the library is organized and how to find their favorite books. We also discovered the world of computer coding through a variety of fun activities. Most importantly, students found joy in the wonderful world of reading!
Over the course of the school year 15,280 books were borrowed from the Primary School Library. At the end of the year Ms. Moss challenged all of the students to show how responsible the were by bringing their books back. Students rose to the challenge, and Ms. Moss continued her tradition of "doing something silly" to reward their efforts.
We wish you the very best this summer. Don't forget to check out what is happening at our local public libraries (See links below!). Happy reading!!!
Sincerely,
Ms. Moss, Librarian
Mrs. Robillard, Library Assistant
Happy Reading!!!! - Ms. Moss
School may be out for summer but it doesn't mean the reading fun has to end!
Our local public libraries have a summer full of adventures planned for readers of all ages. Be sure to visit the Kinderhook, Valatie, and North Chatham Pubic Libraries to see what they have in store. Participating in a Summer Reading Program is a great way to slow or stop the "Summer Slide", but most importantly it is also a lot of fun!
When it comes to summer reading, the best books for your child are those that they are EXCITED and eager to read. As such, we do not have a suggested reading list for our Primary School students. Have fun exploring books that look fun to YOU!
