In the middle of March 2020 in New Jersey, a state lockdown was put in place due to covid-19. Since our private art studio closed early and the weekly art classes, art events, art birthday parties could not take place as usual, we started virtual art classes and Virtual art events for students. During the end of March, owner, art teacher, teaching artist Aneta Pierog-Sudol, decided to join an international art project with a school from Italy and one from Switzerland. The topic was: "I stay at home, I create my window view."
Under the direction of Aneta Pierog-Sudol, the art studio students, friends, and former clients of Rustic Square Art Studio (kids and parents) created self-painted pictures. After completing the project, we put all the pictures of artwork together. After the lockdown, our dream is to create a post-project art exhibition in our studio and also exchange artwork between schools in Italy, Switzerland and USA. Our pictures are dedicated to doctors, nurses, healthcare and essential workers, police officers, first responders, and everyone at the front line. We made the project as a sign of solidarity and cohesion. We stick together, even in this situation.
