When we open a window early in the morning, the first thing that reminds us of daytime is the sunrise. We created our Sunrise by using our hands and fingers. Our sunrise is bright and colorful like a rainbow.
One day, we opened the window and saw trees, especially cherry blossoms of the beautiful pink and white colors. We created Blossom Tree by using simple toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls. On this project we talk about circles.
One day we stayed at the window and looked at the sky. The beautiful blue sky reminded us of our time on the beach by the Atlantic Ocean. We created a view from the Kite Festival at the Beach. We used an origami technique to make little kites and fingers to draw our family members and other people at the beach.
One day, we decided to open our refrigerator and set up a Bowl of Fruits - still life made of fruits, bowls, and pieces of fabric as towels and cloths we had at home. Another day, we opened the refrigerator again and we created the Veggie Faces of our family using vegetables in our kitchen. We added some fashionable details as using parent’s ties, bows, hats, caps, scarfs.
On one sunny day, we brought all the vases and vessels we have at home, set them up, and imagined we were standing by the window and enjoying the beautiful flower garden. We drawled and painted our favorite flowers in the vases and had fun creating imaginary flowers and Family Bouquet. We even decorated the vase by using fresh potato stamps.
A week before the last week of school, we gathered our suitcases, travel bags, and backpacks to the family room. We stood by the window and imagined at least four vacation destination, places where we want to go after the lockdown. We created a collage called Suitcase of Adventure by adding family photography and pictures from newspapers and colorful magazines.
So finally, during the last week of school, we walked up to our windows and drew our Window’s View. All the artwork we did at home we created by using objects around us and we used our imagination to envision all places we could not visit during lockdown time.
