This discussion technique allows students to be actively engaged as they walk throughout the classroom.
Students work together in small groups to share ideas and respond to meaningful questions, documents, images, problem-solving situations or texts.
Teacher will break the class into small groups
Each group receives a topic/idea and students work to create a poster about their assigned topic (posters/topics may also be provided by the teachers)
Teacher will display posters around the room for students to complete the gallery walk
The teacher will group students to go and observe each poster.
Within the group, students can contribute their own thoughts, opinions and questions using sticky notes or with an organizer
Students rotate around the room to be sure they have seen all of the posters
Students may present their poster in a small group
