Superbowl LVI
By Ethan Lahey
Superbowl 56 was a head-to-head match between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals. It took place at the Rams home stadium, SoFi Stadium. Both teams were neck and neck for the majority of the game. After the first half ended, the Rams started to take the lead on the Bengals. The wide receivers coach for the Bengals, Troy Walters, said this, "They've come together as a unit. They're unselfish. They don't care who gets the credit, who gets the glory. They come to work every day. They bust their tails. Practice is important. Preparation is important. You put that alongside their athletic ability, and the sky is the limit."
Surprisingly, this was the Rams' first-ever Superbowl win. Many people across America were filled with joy and sadness when the Rams won 23-20 against the Bengals. Cooper Kupp, the wide receiver for the Rams, hauled in 2 touchdowns, which affected the chance of the Bengals winning. Also, this is the Bengals' first Superbowl appearance since they lost to the 49ers 20-16 in 1988. It was a first time for Superbowl wins for both teams, but the Bengals still have no Superbowl trophy to their name.
Many people enjoyed the halftime show. The show featured stars such as Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and others. This show was one for the ages. All the stars listed have released 22 number one billboard albums and have won a whopping 44 Grammy awards total. Like Prince in '07 and Michael Jackson in '93, this was a top-rated show that many enjoyed again. Some parts were strange, like 50 Cent upside down. Overall, this halftime show and Superbowl LVI was one of the most high-end, popular Super Bowls.
