Jujutsu Kaisen: Volume 0 has just been released and it is undoubtedly going to be the record-setting anime movie of the year. MAPPA has finally animated the prequel to the popular anime and manga series Jujutsu Kaisen. It was released on March 18, 2022, and is predicted to be on streaming services in June or July 2022.

The original manga (by Gege Akutami) stars Yuji Itadori as the protagonist of the adventure, dark, fantasy, and supernatural series. Yuji is an ordinary teenager in Japan’s capital of Tokyo and was discovered to have supernatural strength. He eventually becomes the host of the world’s most powerful curse called Ryomen Sukuna.

Volume 0 was released after the series finished, and it is a prequel to it. The story is about a high schooler named Yuta Okkotsu who has gained an extremely powerful curse, threatening everyone in his surroundings. He is taken to Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School by sorcerers in hopes of learning to control this curse.

The movie simultaneously has a lot of action and emotion. We have scenes where characters like Gojo Satoru say, “Love is the most twisted curse of all” and “Won’t it get lonely all by yourself?” And then we have scenes where menacing curses destroy one another. Eighth-grader Elijah Oliphant thinks, “Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was a great movie, and it definitely improved my love for the series. I would 100% watch it again and would rate it a 9/10.” Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a whirlwind of sentiment wrapped up in a scarf of conflict coming together to create an amazing work of art. It demonstrates various themes of love throughout the storyline and is an overall great watch or read.
