The Financial Literacy lessons are designed to give pupils a good basic understanding of money and finance. Pupils will use a mix of class work and an online platform (LiBF) to equip them with the knowledge to cope confidently and effectively with basic financial encounters they are likely to meet in the future. The online platform (LiBF) provides pupils with the opportunity to formally assess their knowledge and understanding throughout the module with a final online assessment being completed at the end of the year 9 rotation.Â
Some of the topics covered within the modules are:
Bank accounts;
Bank statements;
Payslips;
Budgeting;
Sensible spending;
Borrowing e.g. loans;
Insurance;
Account security.
Pupils can access the LiBF website and log into their account from home should they wish.
