In Year 1, practise sentence expansion (orally) - when, where, why
In Year 2, add in who to sentence expansions.
From Year 3, practice sentence expansion with all question words. Combine two or three sentences.
From Year 4, develop questions about content. (From middle or end of year) practice appositives.
From Year 5, combine three or four sentences.
From Year 7, combine three to five sentences. Use transitions and appositives.
