Sentences are the building blocks of writing.  From the earliest ages, pupils need to hear and read good language models and begin to be exposed to, and later on engage in discussions about, the features of sentences.

• TWR’s sentence-level strategies equip pupils with the foundational skills needed to write paragraphs and essays.

• By correcting fragments, scrambled sentences, and run-ons, pupils can grasp the concept of a complete sentence.

• When these strategies are embedded in the content pupils are learning, they not only refine sentence-level skills but also enhance comprehension and understanding of the material.
