Technoleg Digidol

Mae cymhwyster TAG UG a Safon Uwch CBAC mewn Technoleg Ddigidol yn meithrin dealltwriaeth dysgwyr o'r technolegau digidol a ddefnyddir gan unigolion asefydliadau dros y byd, gan gynnwys sut maent wedi datblygu a sut maent yn parhau i newid.

Mae'r cymhwyster yn galluogi dysgwyr i feithrin dealltwriaeth ddofn o'r ffyrdd y mae datblygiadau arloesol mewn technoleg ddigidol, a'r lefelau cynyddol o gysylltedd rhyngddynt, yn effeithio ar fywydau'r rhai sy'n eu defnyddio ac ar y gymdeithas ehangach.

Bydd dysgwyr hefyd yn meithrin sgiliau ymarferol wrth ddatblygu cynhyrchion digidol creadigol a datrysiadau digidol i broblemau a wynebir gan sefydliadau, gan gefnogi eu cynnydd tuag at gyflogaeth mewn gyrfa sy'n defnyddio technolegau digidol neu at raglen addysg uwch sy'n ymwneud â thechnolegau digidol.

Gall dysgwyr sydd wedi astudio CBAC TGAU Technoleg Ddigidol o'r blaen, neu'r rhai sy'n awyddus i feithrin sgiliau newydd yn y pwnc hwn, astudio'r cymhwyster hwn.

Bydd y cymhwyster yn arbennig o werthfawr i'r rhai sy'n awyddus i weithio ym maes technoleg ddigidol neu barhau â'u hastudiaethau yn y pwnc hwn mewn addysg uwch.

Serch hynny, bwriedir iddo apelio at amrywiaeth eang o ddysgwyr sydd â diddordebau gwahanol, a gall ategu astudiaethau mewn amrywiaeth eang o bynciau eraill, gan gynnwys cyfrifiadureg, mathemateg, ffiseg, daearyddiaeth, dylunio a thechnoleg, economeg, astudiaethau busnes, celf a dylunio, hanes a daeareg.

Bydd manyleb CBAC TAG mewn Technoleg Ddigidol yn galluogi dysgwyr i feithrin:

• dealltwriaeth o dechnolegau arwyddocaol o’r gorffennol, y presennol a rhai sy'n dod i'r amlwg.

• dealltwriaeth o natur integredig a chysylltiedig technolegau digidol a ddefnyddir gan unigolion a sefydliadau

• sgiliau ymchwilio ac archwilio materion cyn dod o hyd i ddatrysiadau effeithiol iddynt a'u rhoi ar waith

• sgiliau cynllunio, dylunio a chreu cynnwys ar y we a chynnwys amlgyfrwng arloesol sy'n diwallu anghenion cynulleidfaoedd penodol

• dealltwriaeth o effeithiau cyfreithiol, cymdeithasol, moesegol a phroffesiynol ac effeithiau amgylcheddol ehangach technolegau digidol ar unigolion a'r gymdeithas ehangach

• gwybodaeth am gylchred oes datblygu systemau a'i natur iterus a chylchol.

The WJEC GCE AS and A level qualification in Digital Technology advances learners’ understanding of the digital technologies that are used by individuals and organisations across the world, including how they have developed and how they continue to change.

The qualification enables learners to develop a deep understanding of how innovations in digital technology, and the increasing levels of connectivity between them, impact the lives of those who use them and the wider society.

Learners will also develop practical skills in developing both creative digital products and digital solutions to problems faced by organisations, supporting their progression into employment in a career that utilises digital technologies or onto a programme of higher education involving digital technologies.

The qualification may be taken by those who have previously studied WJEC GCSE Digital Technology or those who are interested in developing new skills in this subject area. The qualification will be of particular value to those with an interest in working in digital technology or continuing their studies in this subject area in higher education.

It is, nonetheless, designed to appeal to a broad range of learners with different interests and may complement the study of a wide range of other subjects, including computer science, mathematics, physics, geography, design and technology, economics, business studies, art and design, history and geology.

This WJEC GCE specification in Digital Technology will enable learners to develop:

• an understanding of significant past, current and emerging digital technologies

• an understanding of the integrated and connected nature of digital technologies used by individuals and organisations

• skills in researching and exploring issues before finding and implementing effective solutions to them

• skills in planning, designing and creating innovative web-based and multimedia content that meets the needs of specific audiences

• an understanding of legal, social, ethical and professional and environmental impacts of digital technologies on individuals and wider society

• a knowledge of the systems development life cycle and its iterative and cyclical nature.
