Whilst we will still be referring to Year groups, the school will now be split into Progression Steps, not Infants and Juniors. The structure of these Progression Steps is as follows:
At each Progression Step there are a number of skills in each AoLE that the children need to experience. However, this is not done in a linear way but in a more cyclical way, giving the chance for children to revisit skills but with an ever increasing depth, breadth and sophistication.
To see how we build upon the progression children make in this way please follow this link: curriculum-for-wales-progression-code.pdf (gov.wales)

We will use the 5 overarching principles of progression to inform our learning, teaching and assessment. This is how your child will develop skills and progress in their learning.
We meet termly with staff to assess how the class is progressing and discuss individuals. We also use a Progress Tracker to measure progress and support our judgements with evidence.
