Meadowlane Primary School celebrated 'World Children's Day 2018', by wearing blue to school, learning and singing 'What about us!' and completing activities throughout the day linking with the rights of the child.
We shared information about World Children's Day to the school and sang 'What About Us!'
Every class took part in children's rights activities throughout the day.
We joined the rest of the UK by wearing blue clothes to school to inform people of World Children's Day and the rights of a child.
On Tuesday 4th December, i-Rights shared information about the group and the rights of the child to the parents who attended. The i-rights group were available to share their experiences and answer any questions they might of had.
On 12th October 2018 we had our very first i-Rights meeting. The children were given information about what their role within the school would be.

The i-Rights group took a tour of the school together and decided where we label the rights of the child around the school.

Members of Meadowlane i-Voice attended the Grand Council - 'Shout Out About Play' event on Friday 25th January 2019. The event was part of Cardiff Council's vision for a child friendly city.
Meadowlane Primary achieved the Bronze -Rights Committed award on 13th November 2018.

September 2018 - The i-Rights members were notified in our whole school assembly of their brand new roles within the school.

May 2019 - Some children from i-Rights and i-Voice had the opportunity to give their opinion on education and the Cardiff 2020-2030 vision for education and a child friendly city.

June 2019 - The Key Stage 2 dance club took part in the Darcey Bussell Dance Fitness Competition on Saturday 29th June 2019.

We developed our creative talents in Disney club for Fantastic Friday's!

We developed our coding talents in Minecraft and Microbit club for Fantastic Friday's.
Children in Class 7 worked collaboratively with children within cluster schools to create a digital project linking with the rights of the child.
The Kindness Crew promote Article 31: The right to rest and play. They hand out certificates in assembly every fortnight to children who have been a good friend on the yard.
