Identifying DCF Coverage

Before starting the project, DCF skills that could be transferred to the HWB project were identified and highlighted on the school DCF planning tool. It was important to allow opportunities to meet digital competency skills within all four strands of the framework:

Citizenship

Discuss appropriate online behaviour when sharing information and contributing with peers to collaborate online projects for learning.

Explaining when and how it is acceptable to use the work of others.

Interacting and Collaboration

Research ideas and facts with peers through Google Slides and Docs. Working together to add information and images.

Collaborating as a class to collect information and collate into Shared folders. using Google Drive.

Downloading images and files safely through Encyclopedia Britannica and Google. Uploading images and videos to Google Drive.

Searching for specific files in their Google Drives and download section of their chromebooks to later upload to Sway and J2e5.

Producing

Find relevant information using different key words and search techniques.

Select an appropriate website from search results and use a range of sources to check its validity.

Modify and present a range of text, image, sound, animation and video for selected purposes when using SWAY and J2e5

Data and Computational Thinking

Perform simple searches and extract information on branching databases e.g. simple search on branching database to answer questions and check statements using Google Forms.

Add and amend records in databases
