We also encourage the children to read for a minimum of 20 minutes at home on a daily basis. Children are to bring their reading book to school everyday.
Homework will be given out on a fortnightly basis. It will be uploaded onto Seesaw, which they have access to at home. Pupils can complete the tasks digitally, uploading any work onto their Seesaw account or they can bring in a paper version to their class teacher.
There are also weekly Maths 'Flipped Learning' videos available on this platform.
We have extremely high expectations of behaviour at Pembroke Dock Community School.
Behaviour is rewarded using a point system on Class Charts. The children also receive ‘Seren Cymraeg’ for making an effort to speak the Welsh language throughout the school day. They also have the chance to be a 'seren yr wythnos - star of the week' winner which can be awarded for showing any of the traits and behaviours from our four purpose characters. We have a clear behaviour policy in place that children have contributed to. Pupils are aware of the need to show respect and adhere to the rules.
RESIDENTIAL TRIP
The 2024-25 Year 6 residential trip will be to Treginnis Farm, St. Davids. The trip will take place in March 2024. All money to be paid at Reception please. Any questions, please don't hesitate to speak to a member of the Year 6 team.
We can't wait to go!
During the year we spend a lot of time preparing the children for their transition to secondary school. Children will take part in visits to their new school. They will also complete transition tasks.
We regularly update the Year 6 Twitter Page to showcase the children's learning experiences.
You will also find up to date information about upcoming events and special days.
