The Reception Team

The Reception staff would like to welcome all parents, family and friends to our school website and very much look forward to sharing the children's wonderful experiences and learning journeys with you. We will also keep the webpage updated with important events and dates ahead so you are able to keep a check on what will be happening and about anything your child may require for specific events or special days. We hope the website is of some help to you and your child and that you are able to take a look regularly at what's been happening and are informed in advance of important dates ahead. BEHAVIOUR

Within Reception positive behaviour is rewarded with straws in a bucket, when the children collect 10 straws they receive a prize from their class teacher. On a Friday we have our Celebration Assembly, where we reward children in each class with "Star of the week", "Reader of the week" and "Welsh speaker of the week". 

HOMEWORK

Homework will be given out each Friday and will be due in by the following Thursday. The homework will consist of either a rhyme time activity or a flipped learning activity. This is a lovely chance for some one on one time with your child to find out what they have been learning in school that week, and flipped learning will allow you to discuss future topics with your children. Reading folders will be sent home for you to read with your child daily and expected to be returned to school everyday to read in class.

PE

PE will take place every Friday morning. Please ensure children wear suitable clothing and footwear to school.
