PDCS Values
In Pembroke Dock Community School we promote four Social Values and four Learning Values:
Social Values:
Respectful and Empathetic
Innovative
Aspirational
Active
Learning Values:
Reflective
Cooperative
Resilient
Independent
Throughout our school we use stickers and house points as a reward. Children can receive positive house points for behaviours and actions relating to our school values.
If school values are not displayed or behaviour is not as expected we will discuss the situation with the child and they may receive a negative house point.
Parents can track their children's house points via the app 'ClassCharts' - please contact main reception if you need help setting this up.
At PDCS our vision is driven by our strong values underpinned by the Four Purposes of the curriculum.
The Four Purposes of the curriculum are:
Ambitious, capable learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives.
Enterprising, creative contributors who are ready to play a full part in life and work.
Ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world.
Healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.
Our students designed the following characters to represent the Four Purposes of the curriculum and their special attributes -
Reading every day is one of the most important activities you can do to support your child's learning. Your child has a reading folder containing their book and reading log, which we check daily. Please comment and sign, each time your child reads at home, and they will earn a stamp in the back of their log. Once they reach their reading goal, they will receive a prize. Please ensure your child brings their reading folder to school every day.
