Introduction
As part of a Drama course, learners will have the opportunity to;
Study four plays from different periods which will give a overview of the development of modern theatre.
Analysing text from an actor's perspective, Director and Editor.
Write reviews on performances.
Focus on practical dramatic skills that will enable you to work together on creating a performance as well as performing a piece of script.
Analyse and experiment with the techniques of different theatrical practitioners such as Stanislavski, Artaud and M Chekhov.

Unit 1 (24%)
Theatre Workshop
Create, develop and perform a piece of theatr based on the reinterpretation of a piece of text.
A non-exam assessment that is assessed internally is then moderated externally
Unit 2 (16%)
Text in the Theatre
A series of sealed questions on one topic.
Written Examination (1 hour 30 minutes)
Advanced Level (A2)
Year 13
Unit 3 (36%)
Text in Action
Create, develop and perform two pieces of theatre
and a reinterpretation of a piece of text.
Externally assessed non-exam assessment
Unit 4 (24%)
Text in Performance
Two questions based on two different texts.
Written Examination (2 hours)

Entry Requirements
Although individual consideration will be given to each learner, it would be beneficial if they had a grade C for Drama at GCSE standard.
