Welcome to Cwmbran High School Digital Competency and Learning website
As a school Cwmbran High School fully supports online safety and Safer Internet Day.
Safer Internet Day in the UK is an annual event that takes place each year in February. The day aims to raise awareness about the importance of online safety and promote positive online behaviour. It is coordinated by the UK Safer Internet Centre, which brings together various organisations, schools, and individuals to participate in activities and events to promote internet safety.
On Safer Internet Day, schools and organisations across the country hold workshops, assemblies, and other events to educate students and individuals about online safety. The day also serves as an opportunity for parents, teachers, and other adults to have conversations with young people about the potential risks and dangers of the internet, as well as how to mitigate them.
The theme of Safer Internet Day changes each year, with past themes including "Be the Change: Unite for a Better Internet" and "Together for a Better Internet." The day also encourages individuals to take action to create a safer and more positive online environment, such as being kind and respectful online, protecting personal information, and reporting any harmful content or behaviour.
