Shwmae and welcome to our school. Bryn Bach Primary is located in Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent. The school currently has 204 full time pupils, with a 30 place part-time nursery.
Our school is organised into three learning communities which align with the progression steps outlined in the Curriculum for Wales :
Amazing Acorns (Nursery and Reception)
Brilliant Buds (Year 1, 2 and 3)
Mighty Oaks (Year 4,5 and 6)
We have a dedicated team of staff who are extremely passionate about providing the best educational offer for our young people: ensuring they are equipped with the skills to prepare them for secondary school and their futures beyond. All members of staff work with the wellbeing and interests of the pupils at heart. We are constantly seeking ways to provide opportunities for pupils to have their say in what they want to learn, linking work to local and global events and always ensuring a holistic approach to teaching and learning. We want our curriculum to be reflective: we want to celebrate being Welsh, learn about our culture and heritage, ensuring our pupils are proud to be Welsh citizens. Our topics are linked to authentic, real-life contexts and our aim is to prepare our young people for life in the 21st Century. Our extensive school grounds provide plentiful opportunities to learn outdoors, contributing to pupil wellbeing and engagement.
Our core values are: kindness, happiness and hard work. We strongly believe if our pupils are happy, they will be ready to learn and reach their maximum potential.
