Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Welcome to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion page!

Our mission is to cultivate a deep sense of belonging within our Hutto ISD community. We believe that every individual brings something valuable to the table, and by embracing our differences, we enrich our collective experience. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

To achieve this, we actively promote open dialogue and collaboration, ensuring that every voice is not only heard but also actively integrated into decision-making processes. We provide opportunities for personal and professional growth, recognizing that when individuals feel supported and empowered, they contribute more effectively to the community as a whole.

We're striving to nurture a culture where everyone feels deeply connected, where we not only embrace but celebrate our differences. By making belonging a priority, we're building a community that is stronger, adaptable, more resilient, and empowers individuals to thrive and reach their fullest potential.

What's Happening?

DEI District Citizens Committee

As we continue with our collaborative efforts to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion across the district, the DEI District Citizens Committee has the responsibility of convening regularly to offer feedback on the progress of Goal 8 in the District Improvement Plan. We appreciate the dedication of the DEI Committee members and are enthusiastic about the opportunities for our students when adults engage in vital conversations about belonging—embracing differences not despite them, but because of them.

DEI Public Forums

The DEI District Citizens Committee hosts periodic public forums open to all of Hutto ISD and Hutto, Texas community members. The purpose of these public forums is to maintain open communication with our community at large so that we offer transparency in our work and provide avenues for feedback. We highly value these opportunities to come together and be in community with one another as we collaborate in our efforts to promote belonging. For the school year 24-25, we will host a fall, winter, spring and summer forum.

What's the HODcast?

The HODcast is a series of podcasts, or audio recordings that provide an opportunity for the larger community to hear conversations between Mrs. Glaze and various staff, students, parents and community members. Diversity speaks for itself through the stories and experiences of each of our unique guests. Our hopes are that in uplifting the voices of our beautifully diverse staff, students, and families, we are able to engage with them in meaningful dialogue that inspires excellence in academics, character, and community.

Please tune in to our Infinite Perspectives Series. Listeners will be able to learn more about our mission for the district, but our ultimate goal is to foster connection, to increase understanding, and to build community throughout Hippo Nation so that we stay united in excellence and belonging. If you would like to be interviewed, select a button below to fill out an interest form. Stay tuned!
