The Hutto Independent School District welcomes the opportunity to support those enrolled in college teacher education preparation programs or an Alternative Certification Program (ACP) who need to fulfill requirements through student teaching or classroom observations.
In order to assist both you and the campus, the district has developed a process to facilitate student teaching and classroom observations. If you wish to student teach or observe in a Hutto ISD classroom, you must follow the process outlined below for the safety of Hutto ISD students and to accommodate the schedules of the campuses and teachers on those campuses.
If at any point you have questions, please contact HR for assistance by calling 512-759-3771 or via email: Jen Jasper, Strategic Staffing Specialist, jennifer.jasper@huttoisd.net or Monica Flores, HR Generalist, monica.flores@huttoisd.net
If you would like to fulfill your university or ACP requirement for student teaching, clinical student teaching, residency, internships, or observation hours in Hutto ISD, please read the following instructions:
Submit an application to the appropriate posting. For the Student Observation posting, please click here. For the Student Teacher/Semester and Year Long Residency/Internships posting please click here.
Contact Jen Jasper with placement requirements. Please allow up to two weeks for processing/placement.
Once the application is processed, Monica Flores will contact you with the next steps. Please ensure you schedule an appointment with Monica after she contacts you. When you come in for your appointment, please bring 2 forms of ID and be ready to take a photo for your ID badge.
Once your placement has been secured and you arrive on campus for your first day, check in with the Administrative Assistant to receive directions to the classrooms you will be working in or observing.
Once you have completed all of your observation time, please contact Jen Jasper.
