English - writing skills
The children have returned to school with a really positive attitude towards their written outcomes. Work being produced reflects the Lines of Inquiry for each class and in many classes links to the text being used to support their learning which is taking place each day.
Da Vinci
The children have begun to form their letters correctly linked to the sounds they’re learning in their Phonics sessions. Opportunities for mark making have been enjoyed both inside and outside of the classroom setting.
Berners Lee
Within Berners-Lee, the children have been writing simple sentences to link their text of Beegu. The children have also been using descriptive words to describe themselves as babies and then wrote a sentence to describe what they looked like. They have been ensuring that they have used a capital letter, full stop and a finger space.
Cousteau Class
After considering how to ensure that all children have equal rights to education the children have written letters to Mr Etheridge explaining why he should welcome refugees into our school. The children were able to justify each of their reasons.
Anderson Class
Anderson class has been writing around the theme of ‘Who We Are’. After art sessions involving painting self portraits and skills sessions to explore the language we may use in our writing the children have written a descriptive piece of writing about themselves. They considered what they look like along with the things that they like and dislike.
Adams Class
Their children have returned to school and have shown a range of writing skills. The children have produced some lovely guides to daily life in ancient Greece and used a range of research skills to find the information required to complete their work.
Thunberg Class
Thunberg class explored non chronological reports and their features before writing one which explored the United Nations Children's charter. They have also written diary entries based on the main character of hector from their class text.
Attenborough
The children have already demonstrated a range of skills from their writing outcomes. They have written letters in the role of Sims, the cabin boy in their whole class text they are exploring as part of their central idea and they have also written a guide to represent the different religions and their views on the afterlife.
Well done everyone for your wonderful written outcomes
