Keeping our iPads up-to-date with the latest system software is an easy way to ensure that the machines are running at their optimum performance. Apple has released many new features and apps with the latest version of iPad iOS. When students visit Mr. Ellison with iPad tech issues, many of the bugs are fixed by updating the system software. iPads with the latest system software run faster, have fewer bugs, and offer the latest features in the installed apps.
Sometimes people have trouble updating their iPad because the storage is too full. The video on the left demonstrates how to free up storage so you can perform the system update.
To update an iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
The media center recently added a significant collection of non-fiction books to our collection. These titles align with many of the topics studied at HHS and are currently available for checkout. Some of the topics of our new books include:
Artists
Countries
Artificial Intelligence
Climate change / biodiversity
The U.S. Capitol insurrection
COVID-19
Genetic engineering
Big Tech
The immigration crisis
QAnon and conspiracy theories
Future space endeavors (tourism, military, etc.)
Modern politics
Staff are encouraged to recommend books to our students. We have book recommendation cards at the circulation counter that can be completed by staff and students. We then post these recommendations on the shelf next to the book. This causes an immediate increase in book circulation!
You are welcome to complete a physical book recommendation card in the media center, or you can quickly fill out this form (as many times as you want), and we will transcribe your recommendation onto a card.
The HHS Media Center is on Twitter and would love to have you follow us. Our handle is @HHS_MediaCenter.
