OUR VISION
Self -directed learners with a passion for the Chinese language
Reading Programme@Huamin
Huamin’s Chinese Reading Programme promotes a love for reading Chinese through engaging in-school and holiday activities. In conjunction with World Book Day, students participate in enjoyable reading experiences to spark interest in Chinese books. Parent-Child Holiday Reading activities for Primary 1 to 4 encourage shared reading and family bonding, while Primary 5 students engage in independent holiday reading.
In conjunction with Racial Harmony Day, students deepen their cultural understanding through creative activities, including a poster design competition for Primary 3 to 5 and a colouring activity for Primary 2.
Learning Journeys
To enrich learning in the Chinese language and culture, Primary 3 Chinese Language students take part in an annual Learning Journey funded by the Cultural Performance Exposure Scheme(CPES) to watch a performance, while Primary 2 students participate in a Learning Journey to the zoo and apply their learning through show-and-tell activities.
Competition & External Programmes
The school provides students with regular opportunities to participate in competitions, allowing them to challenge themselves, gain exposure, and apply their learning beyond the classroom.
In addition, students take part in cluster-level events such as the N6 Cluster Reading Carnival, where they engage in hands-on activities related to book characters, fostering a love for reading, building confidence, and celebrating learning through meaningful engagement.
Primary 3 & 4 Parent–Child Authentic Learning Activities
Authentic learning activities, designed for parent–child participation and extended from the Chinese Language curriculum, enable students to apply classroom learning at home. These activities promote the use of Chinese beyond school and strengthen meaningful home–school partnerships.
